3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAY 2, 2005 one of the first non-big name brews that i ever had. inspired me to try more adventurous beers. gotta give it extra credit for that. now I find it a little too light for my palate, but will occasionally have a few with dinner.

BarePaw is tripping. This beer is my favorite American beer. Very tasty, always satisfying. Enjoyed best just short of frozen.

Nice hoppy aroma, golden color, fluffy pillow like head. The hop-malt balance was indeed very complex and enjoyable.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale tasted watered down. It has a very weak flavor. I’m not impressed.

Great beer -- hoppy aroma, well-balanced hoppy flavor -- it’s one of the basics for explaining to neophytes how hops plays a role in good beers. I’ve been amazed at how this beer has become omnipresent, even available at grocery stores. That a great pale ale can become successfully mass produced speaks volumes about the efforts of Sierra Nevada.

Pretty bitter, not one of my favorite pale ales.

Everything about this beer physically is average---except the taste. Nose is typical, color is pretty much the same as other pales. The taste, however, is a little better. It is a little sweeter and easier to drink than some, and I found myself wanting another bottle. Very little bitterness in this one. I like it and I will try it again.

Not to bad, but the after taste was a way to strong. Also the aroma was pretty strong. Not one of my favorites.

Probably my favorite ’hoppy’ beer. Nice hop aroma, dry on the back of the throat but also refreshing. Had it on tap at a casino in Lake Tahoe and enjoyed having a nice ale available for consumption.
