4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 5, 2006 There’s not another generally-available supermarket-type beer in my area that can even touch this. For God’s sake, put down your macro-swill and live a little. This outstanding brew (great session-brew as well!) set me off on a quest for better beer . . .

Hoppy/citrusy aroma, with a hint of spice. Looks nice in the glass. Aftertaste has a bit of grapfruit. Just a really great beer. Very smooth.

Excellent pale ale, only recently available in Scotland (Sainsbury’s). Lots of fruity hop in the aroma, light amber in colour. Taste predominantly hop, with a fruity malt background, long, pleasant, characteristically american finish (those cascade hops, again).

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
When i was a kid i hated this beer. Now the tables have turned because i cant stand Mickeys and St. Ides any more. Pouring this creates monster head and nice dense off gold/brown color. I always thought this was from Nevada but its not. Great beer overall and not as expensive as other micro’s. Will be drinking this more often.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A nice amber color with a thick white lasting head, this has a light hop aroma over a mild malt scent. It has a clean malt taste with a good dose of hoppy bitterness with a citric aftertaste. A nice mouth-feel... nice drink over all.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
maybe i got a dud bottle of this. maybe, since this wasn´t one of the first microbrews i tasted, i didn´t have much of an emotional attachment to it. anyway to me it seemed decent but average. amber, surprisingly light citric aroma, light body, reasonable bitterness, nothing really stood out. anyway, since duff didn´t think much of the bottle we shared either, i´m guessing we got a stale one

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is a nice refreshing pale ale. Fruity, sharp hoppiness is the main player here. Good color and pleasant carbonation. Fruity, light malt flavors. Crisp and playful mouthfeel. This could be an everyday beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very refreshing, surprisingly complex for a pale ale. Hops aren’t over or underdone. Great when you want to have a few or nine.
