3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 24, 2010 Bottle: Out a bar, so straight from the bottle...so my appearance and aroma ratings are a little skewed, but I will rerate soon.
The aroma was minimal, but like I said this is from the bottle itself.
Iíve had it before I got into rating and enjoying good beers and the appearance was very good from distant recolection.
The palate was very good, it had an excellent mouth feel that was smooth and cool on the tounge.
Flavor was definitly hoppy, but not sure it was as potent as many claim it is. I felt it lacked maltyness and also carbonation for my particular taste (I like carbonation).
Iíve had it again and again, and it continues to grow on me.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Though Iím not a fan of hop-heavy beers, Sierra Nevada is just about at my hop threshold. Hoppy enough to really show off that taste, but not obscenely so that makes the taste to strong and obnoxious. Full bodied tastes of sweet malt and sweetíníspicy hops that are robust, but lack in complexity. A very clean tasting, crisp beer!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
i finally got around to trying this highly touted brew...pours a slightly cloudy deep gold color with wispy white head. the aroma is very mild, showing off the hops and light amounts of caramel malts. flavor is very mild as well, but feels very solid in your mouth. tastes are mirrors of the aroma, light caramel malts followed my a generous amount of hops with a perfect amount of bitterness to balance out the beer, but not become lip-puckering or lingering. a surprisingly solid mouthfeel and decent amount of body for the style...very crisp and refreshing, why didnt anyone mention that this was so good.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Had this one many times but this rating is from notes taken at the Southwest Beer Festival in Scottsdale, Arizona. The conditions were hard to take notes in but these are the ratings and they stand. Light amber. Light hoppy aroma. Malty and well hopped flavor. Dry light bitter finish. This is a decent beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a nice copper with an off-white head. Lacy and a bit fizzy. Smell is grassy and hoppy. Floral hops and light citrus aromas.
Taste is just above average. Grassy and creamy pale malt. A nice hop profile and crsip. A bit fruity with a nice hoppy finish. Nicely balanced. A bit creamy and very very drinkable. Refreshing. The ultimate fallback beer and an old favorite of mine.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Standard APA... Very high drinkability to it- you can kill a 6-pack and not even know it. Relatively high Alcohol% gives it a nice kick. Distinctly bitter taste, but goes down with hints of grapefruit.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2005 What can anybody say that hasnít about this ale maybe applaud the excellent work done on perfecting a unique bottle and label that sets the expectations.
It pours out a clear light orange with a nice head that fades fast but into a nice creamy top that laces nicely.
The smell is hoppy with bitter orange and pine notes that make you realize this is not your average mass produced ale.
Taste is only slight malt with more hops and citrus but not a strong grapefruit taste but more like lemon/orange with a nice dry light bitter finish.
This is not a heavily carbonated beer and feels great in the mouth.
One of those beers that taste great and begs you to have another.
Note: This beer is available in almost any grocery store in NH and reasonably priced. Only wish SN would distribute more of their other beers.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
a hoppy ale with citrus flavors. a bit watery with subpar mouthfeel especially when compared to the better pale ales including the alpha king. not much depth here but a decent beer.
