Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a delightful example of the classic pale ale style. It has a deep amber color and a exceptionally full-bodied, complex character. The fragrant bouquet and spicy flavor are the results of the generous use of the best Cascade hops.<P> Bottle Conditioned.

UPDATED: OCT 22, 2003 I've always been a fan of Sierra Nevada. With this being their flagship beer, I think they did a good job. Nice flavor and good color. Very well balanced. Aroma has hops springing out of the glass.

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2005 Major re-rate- So I have found the hops in my palate and I actually find this to be one of my more frequented beer. Little hops in the nose, not overpowering, hops in the taste, pretty consistant. Pretty darn good.

(On tap at the Griffin Grill and Pub in Battle Creek, MI.) Zippy and hoppy, super fresh aroma. With a medium golden appearance, a bare hint of foam and an appropriately thin palate, this is a pure, single-note, quality brew. It's not my favorite Sierra Nevada, but it's definitely a fine pale ale.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2005 On tap, but I don’t think it was a very fresh keg. I’ll need to rerate with a bottle I have sitting in the fridge. In any case, appearance was still spot on, the aroma was the usual citrusy hoppy breadiness. The palate was nice, just a touch of bite. The malt and hops, although balanced, had a more subdued impact than I was remembering. Sprucy and grapefruity, definite Cascade traits, but the flavors were a bit mute, almost like looking through a veil. Will definitely rerate with the bottle version soon. Rerate - bottle version gets +1 for flavor. This is the bottle rating version, will go back later to pick up another tap sample.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2004 This beer is the standard bearer for American Pale Ales, and is probably one of the most popular beers when the choices are limited to macrobrews. The high standards of the brewer and overall quality ensure its consistancy. Enough has been said about the aroma, flavor, etc, so I will not bother to rehash it. Truly an above average offering.

Beautiful pale ale. Good, hoppy flavor with nice citrus overtones. Creamy and delicious. Just a fine ale.
