Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a delightful example of the classic pale ale style. It has a deep amber color and a exceptionally full-bodied, complex character. The fragrant bouquet and spicy flavor are the results of the generous use of the best Cascade hops.<P> Bottle Conditioned.

Eh. I think this is an overrated beer myself. It was way too tangy and sweet for me. It was too pale for me, and had a strong aftertaste. I was not impressed

Along with Rolling ROck, one of my favoriet pale ales. Very smooth, easy to drink, and damn good.

Lighter and less flavor than I remembered from previous samples. Of course, I may be demanding more and more flavor from my beers. Nicely balanced, light, hoppy beer. Dry, refreshing, citrus finish. Nice because its so available, often saving one from having to order a macrobrew when dining out.

Solid beer from a solid brewery who has been around forever - Sierra Nevada is an icon in the microbrew world - the respect they have earned ranks right up there with the other US microbrew pioneers like Anchor Steam and Redhook. Not this is a hoppy beer ... not much malt in any of the SN products - just know, when drinking any SN beers - you will get a good dose of hops - sometimes even unbalanced - but that is their style and a solid one at that.

A generic amber with a nudge of spice and of course the APA-style’s characteristic hops. Many see this as the definition of an APA. I think Anchor Liberty is also quite decent.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2004 (Re-rate)Clear, golden/light amber. Thin, persistent white, somewhat creamy head. Nose is filled with citrusy hops and some underlying malt as well. Medium bodied, satisfying toasted sweet malt profile washed away gracefully by the juicy, citrusy hops making for a slightly dry/bitter in the finish. The balance of this beer is exceptional. Its refined, fully flavored, rich and rounded. There really isnt anything wrong with it. Awesome APA and the best 'supermarket' beer out there.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2003 Sierra Nevada is my favorite everyday type beer. Slightly bitter with a little bite. Only gets better as you go along. Great beer to have with food.
