Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a delightful example of the classic pale ale style. It has a deep amber color and a exceptionally full-bodied, complex character. The fragrant bouquet and spicy flavor are the results of the generous use of the best Cascade hops.<P> Bottle Conditioned.

12 ounce bottle. Amber orange color. Big rocky beige head. Wonderful toasted malt nose with a big Cascade hop bouquet. Complex toasted malt flavor has notes of caramel, citrus hops and white pepper. Finish is fruity, tart and bitter. One of the first micro/craft brews I ever had some 30 years ago. Still delicious.

355ml can from ales by mail. Poured golden amber with large white, slowly diminishing head. Aroma is floral, fragrant with honey and malt notes. Taste is subtly spiced, grapefruit, orange peel. A bitter finish on the palate rounds off an overall delicious pale ale.

(350ml bottle from Systembolaget - so not fresh!) Pours pale ambe. Aroma pine, light citrus peel - grapefruit mostly, a little caramel, touch grainy, floral hints, not strong and edging on macro character. On the palate, a bit sweet with caramel and pale malt character and a hint of grain, some pine needle, touch of resin, a little grapefruit peel and pith, bitterness appearing near the finish is pretty light. Finish is pretty dry with a bit of hop astringency and a little grain. Lightish body with average carb. I know this isn’t fresh so I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt, but it still was a fairly lightly hopped and somewhat malty APA with no real wow factor, even a muted one. A classic, and decent to drink I’m sure, but not something I’d go for regularly.

1.2.2014. Tuoksussa humalaa, sitrusta ja havua, hyvä tuoksu. Maku seuraa kohtalaisesti tuoksua. Maku seuraa tuoksua, tässä on humalaa ja sitrusta ja havua.

12oz bottle. Pours amber colored with thin white head. Minimal aroma other than a mild beer smell. Somewhat effervescent. Smooth taste with late bitter taste that fades quickly and doesn't overwhelm the flavor. Not particularly hoppy like and IPA. Overall not bad for a pale.

Can. Pours a true clear copper, fluffy white head, fair amount of lace. Nose is sweet malt, citrus and pine hop, there is something that is conflicting in the nose, which comes across metallic, which would be a first I’ve encountered. Tastes sweet, caramel malts, bitter, nice hop flavour.

Bottle 35 cl from Bierhalle Dekoninck, @ home. Clear amber color, minimal head. Aroma of pine, resin, candy, hops. Taste is a bit sweet but with a good bitterness in the finish. A good hoppy pale ale.

Nice pale ale, full of taste but really drinkable, long bitterness in a medium body, lot of evergreen hops.
