I love pale ale, and consider this my over-all favorite. Highly recommended; hoppy, but well balanced with its maltiness. Mmmmm.

The prototypical American hoppy pale, and the popularized of hop-forward craft beers. Classic.

I was so disappointed about this IPA...
No taste, no hops flavour... too light...
I didn’t like...

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured an attractive deep orange hue with a good white head that stayed the whole way. Aroma fresh, of sweet mandarin and grapefruit. Flavour initially mild grain sweetness, flowing into robust bitter citrus hop finish. Not getting any pine tones. Refreshing on palate, lively carbonated, medium bodied, good long finish. Great beer will definitely drink again.

A very good-tasting pale ale – hoppy & pale, not sweet. A little lacking in aroma.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a golden yellow with a grassy citrus aroma. Initial bitterness is not overpowering to the malts, and caramel still is evident. Finishing hops give a citrus and pine finish. A classic and a winner

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Just right on the palate, not too much carbonation, no lingering bitter finish, sweet full bodied taste. Not too thin on the texture, but refreshing. Shame the bottle isn’t bigger!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Appearance: Golden yellow.
Smell: Grassy and earthy.
Taste: Nice balance. Crisp hops. Mid-tone malts. Nothing overwhelms anything else. The model of what a Pale Ale should be.
Mouthfeel: Smooth and light body.
Drinkability: A pale ale that aims for and hits the straight-down-the-middle pale ale target. Bullseye. A Classic for a reason.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 Fl. Oz bottle poured into pint glass. Appears a finger and half head, which is off white. Golden clear, colored beer. Smells of citrus (grapefruit to be exact) and a bit of hops. Tasted a slight bit fruit and the hops were there but not neutral, not over hopped or under hopped. Medium carbonation with a nice dry, crisp finish. A great gateway craft beer indeed!
