Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a delightful example of the classic pale ale style. It has a deep amber color and a exceptionally full-bodied, complex character. The fragrant bouquet and spicy flavor are the results of the generous use of the best Cascade hops.<P> Bottle Conditioned.

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2015 330 ml bottle from Järve Selver. Pours nice, slightly hazy golden with a little head. Aroma has a bit of fruitiness, floral hops. I guess it has gone a bit stale compared with what it should be closer to bottling date - but it’s still good. Taste has abundance of bitter hops, strong malt backbone balanced with heavy hops. Not much of carbonation left. Doesn’t have much fragrance though, quite down the earth drink. Has some lingering bitterness at the end. Good beer, not too pretentious and a great example of the style. Will try it again, especially when I get it closer to the brewery, not the half a world away as I am trying it right now. // Re-rate in June 3, 2015. Got it now in Japan, quite fresh. Aroma is still quite laid back, taste is a lot maltier than I remember from first time.Citric hops, making my tongue tingle. Still, simple in contemporary terms but I can understand why this has become an icon in the beer world. +0.3 points

12 oz from bottle into tulip. A style-defining beer. Exactly what I think when I think pale ale. A little citrus, a little malt, a lot of flavor without being overpowering

355 ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange with an off-white head. The aroma is hoppy with pine needles and some hidden citric notes. Medium body with medium carbonation. The taste is a little fruity with grapes and berries and a solid lightly sweet malty backbone. In the end a mild hoppy bitterness comes into play

Not much aroma, but once poured has a good golden appearance. Taste is gentle not overly malty, with mild aftertaste on the palate. Overall a good beer but not stand out

Amber mit flüchtigem Schaum, Aroma dezent nach Zitrusfrüchten und malzig (Brot), im Geschmack überwiegen trockene hopfige Bitteraromen, schwach carbonisiert, lange bitter anhaltend

Dark yellow, honeylike colour with a medium white head. Nose is neutral. I poured it into a plastic glass (had nothing better, other option was the bottle.) Taste is low bitterness. No hoppyness nothing. Huge disapointment.

Love this beer, first tried it in the USA and surprised me as at the time I was not sure yanks could brew ale. And although mass produced is a nice drink ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Originally rated on 9/22/08. The first time or two i had this i thought i was rather average, however after repeated tastings this beer seems to get a little better each time, or maybe i just appreciate it more. Pale ales arent my favorite style but this is a pretty good beer. It is a nicely balanced, flavorful beer with floral hops dominating the aroma and flavor. Smooth and refreshing its is one of my favorite pale ales.

Bottle. Pours in clear pale body with medium white head. Aroma has light citrusy aroma, earthy background. Taste has medium citrus bitterness with medium malty sweetness. Very refreshing and well balanced. Body is full with high carbonation.

I guess it’s all been said before, but a nice pale amber beer with a sharp hop presence. Decent.
