A decent pale ale, but not my favorite. The Bridgeport Blue Heron is a lot smoother, and has more body, where the Sierra Nevada seems a little thinner. but satisfying, and strong enough to rank well in the Pale Ale family. It does have a nice hoppy bite, but the aftertaste bears a lot of bitterness that I’m not sure if I like. It does get better with each beer, (but I think that formula works for every beer!)

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
16 oz can Into glass
Aroma: some subtle citrus and maybe a bit piney hop aroma. Cascade hops. Low malt aroma. Clean.
Appearance: clear amber (maybe dark gold) with white quickly disappearing foam. Some thin lacing. Just a tad darker than what I expect from "pale" ale.
Flavor: moderate hop bitterness balanced well by the malt. citrus notes.
Low hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel: low to medium bodied. Low to medium carbonation. Smooth and clean no harshness and moderate hop bitterness. Malt takes back seat to hops.
Overall: very drinkable, balanced, perhaps even a bit conservatively boring pale ale (or session IPA). Not extreme in any criteria except a bit more amber than pale ales. SRM is 8-9 range by eye. And slightly more malty than many traditional pale ales

Pours clear deep gold with a bit beige head and decent lacing. Light aroma of citrus, resin and light malt. Well balanced crispy taste. High carbonation, light body. A perfectly balanced pale ale, no astringency, no off-flavors. Refreshing.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear golden beer, smells of fruit and bready spices. There’s a spiciness to the taste as well, along with some grassy, zesty fruit, bitter hop and a floral feel to it. There’s a bit of a caramel base to it as well giving it a slightly richer feel than many pale ales. Really very tasty.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
- bernstein, mit guter, anhaltenderr Schaumbildung
- Aromen nach Pfirsich, Mango und Grapefruit
- passende Carbonisierung
Fazit: Gut ausbalanciertes Pale Ale

This is a well balanced beer from the bottle. Nice amount of hops and great body. 5.6% alcohol and minimum fruit taste. This is a nice regular drinking ale. An interesting bottle. Recommended.
