4.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
I have intentionally not rated this beer before. This will be my 100th rating and I figured I would use the opportunity to comment on what I feel is a grave injustice. So often these days you hear people disparage SNPA as being boring or not as big as it used to be. I think the problem lies not in this great beer, but in the "Imperialization" of craft brewing. Everything has to be bigger, hoppier, smoked or oaked or many turn their nose up at it. The mentality seems to be if it doesn’t go to eleven it isn’t worth drinking. While this bigger is better philosophy has produced some truly great beers it has also caused some great beers, like this one, to get marginalized. As I am typing this I look below at the top ratings for American Pale Ales and see a list of beers that are really examples of IPAs. How can SNPA not be among the top APAs? It invented the style for crying out loud!
OK, rant over, SNPA really is a great beer from the mouthwatering citrus aroma, to the decidedly hoppy, but beautifully balanced flavor, it is a true classic. Could it have more of everything? Of course it could, but then it wouldn’t be an APA

Bottle on Celebrity Millennium. Smooth with a full body. Hints of a nice intense bitterness. Round and fresh with a full and a bit grainy body with a nice and fresh bitter ending.

From bottle; Pretty color and stable foam. Slightly malty, but not really hoppy nose. Nice bitter taste. Overall a good beer, probably better when fresher

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Heavily overrated. Barely any hops to this. No tropical scent or taste. Feels bland for a "craft beer". This beer must have been better when they released it in the beginning. Maybe they’re being cheap with ingredients?

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Colore dorato scuro, completamente limpida. Schiuma bianca compatta. Al naso malto, qualche nota floreale. Sapore di malto con leggero finale amaro e secco. Corpo e carbonazione media. Una buona birra da pasto ma senza gridare al miracolo.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rating #1595 - 27.03.2015 - Bottle from Palm Liquor. Dark amber pour with a bubbly, lasting white foam. Aroma is citrusy, tangerine notes, mild grassiness, mild floral, piney scent.Taste is a blast of Magnum hop character whose bitterness evolves to define this beer, a bold bitterness following a crisp, floral, resinous, citrusy sweetness. Not unbalanced, and extremely drinkable

aroma not very intense, hoppy-fresh. color of dark gold. very well balanced taste, sweet with good dose of bitterness. would be a great "every-day-beer" just if price was lower (quite an expensive one here)
