Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a delightful example of the classic pale ale style. It has a deep amber color and a exceptionally full-bodied, complex character. The fragrant bouquet and spicy flavor are the results of the generous use of the best Cascade hops.<P> Bottle Conditioned.

I have intentionally not rated this beer before. This will be my 100th rating and I figured I would use the opportunity to comment on what I feel is a grave injustice. So often these days you hear people disparage SNPA as being boring or not as big as it used to be. I think the problem lies not in this great beer, but in the "Imperialization" of craft brewing. Everything has to be bigger, hoppier, smoked or oaked or many turn their nose up at it. The mentality seems to be if it doesn’t go to eleven it isn’t worth drinking. While this bigger is better philosophy has produced some truly great beers it has also caused some great beers, like this one, to get marginalized. As I am typing this I look below at the top ratings for American Pale Ales and see a list of beers that are really examples of IPAs. How can SNPA not be among the top APAs? It invented the style for crying out loud! OK, rant over, SNPA really is a great beer from the mouthwatering citrus aroma, to the decidedly hoppy, but beautifully balanced flavor, it is a true classic. Could it have more of everything? Of course it could, but then it wouldn’t be an APA

Fľaša. Farba tmavo zlatá, jantárová, biela pena, ktorá držala veľmi dlho. Vôňa sladová, trávnatá, kvetinová, kde pekne cítiť chmeľ. V chuti sladová sladkosť, prechádza cez kvetinové tóny, zľahka citrusové tóny to príjemnej jemne chmeľovosti. Telo stredné, veľmi príjemná nasýtenosť. Nie je to žiadny extra ale, ale tým, že je ľahký a krásne vyvážený, tak je prudko piteľný.

A delicious pale ale that can be drank any day of the week. A nice smell of pine and slight citrus in the nose. The taste is much the same with a refreshing pine flavor. Delicious. I know there is a better Pale Ale out there, I just haven’t found it yet.

Bottle from AmmersinO, Vienna. Beautiful deep amber, clear body, with a big, creamy, slightly yellow head. Aroma of citrus, tangerine, some pine and interesting earthy, grainy notes. Taste is really smooth, with about the same aromas. Mouthfeel is medium, slick, with a medium carbonation and it finishes bitter, slightly dry, with lemon zest, pine and grain notes. Simply tasty! Very very smooth, greatly balanced and a classic example of a Cascade hopped ale.

Sort of soapy earthy note with a hint of lemon lime citrus. Looks good. Good head. Solid amber color. Taste is smooth. Hint of hops. Little malt. A solid blend of flavors without going toward one too much. Solid for a pale ale. Palate is lighter but still full on the palate. A really solid pale ale. I could drink a lot of this.

Cheers!

Bottled. I had this at the Hars Rock Cafe at the Universal Studios in L.A. The faux pas came right away - it came with no glass! I did not bother to order one because we had been drinking for some tome already over at Karl Strauss :D. It was a good american style pale ale as far as I can remember.

Clear, golden, white foam, good carbonation. Citrus flavour. Not the greatest pale ale for the price in Aus. But pretty decent nevertheless.
