Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a delightful example of the classic pale ale style. It has a deep amber color and a exceptionally full-bodied, complex character. The fragrant bouquet and spicy flavor are the results of the generous use of the best Cascade hops.<P> Bottle Conditioned.

I have intentionally not rated this beer before. This will be my 100th rating and I figured I would use the opportunity to comment on what I feel is a grave injustice. So often these days you hear people disparage SNPA as being boring or not as big as it used to be. I think the problem lies not in this great beer, but in the "Imperialization" of craft brewing. Everything has to be bigger, hoppier, smoked or oaked or many turn their nose up at it. The mentality seems to be if it doesn’t go to eleven it isn’t worth drinking. While this bigger is better philosophy has produced some truly great beers it has also caused some great beers, like this one, to get marginalized. As I am typing this I look below at the top ratings for American Pale Ales and see a list of beers that are really examples of IPAs. How can SNPA not be among the top APAs? It invented the style for crying out loud! OK, rant over, SNPA really is a great beer from the mouthwatering citrus aroma, to the decidedly hoppy, but beautifully balanced flavor, it is a true classic. Could it have more of everything? Of course it could, but then it wouldn’t be an APA

aroma is at first floral hops and yeast, earthy yeast and malt presence as well..nice slightly cloudy amber red appearance with pure white foamy head lacing too no prob with the appearance..taste..like a much stronger IPA but more top heavy than most in a word a well worn and time proven classic would love to taste a ’double or "imperial" version

Pale Amber with frothy persistent head. Moderate carbonation. Sweet caramel in the malts, grapefruit in the hops. Been drinking off and on for 20 years. See no reason to stop. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle@home. One finger foam. Amber very clear. Pasteurized faint hoppy notes. No citrus grapefruit. Some undefined fruityness. DME suspected. Low bitterness. Skunk from the shelves of the grocery. The exp date 07022017. The beer must be rather fresh. A great disappointment. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Wow! Absolut rundes Gesamtkunstwerk.

Amber color. Small creamy head. Lots of carb and a bit hazy. Fruity citrusy aroma. Unexpectedly sweet and malty body with strong bitterness hovering it. Tastes empty though. Drinkable but not bursting with flavor at all

Bottle. 355ml. Price 0,99€. Skaidri, šviesiai rusva spalva, nedidelė bet ilgokai išliekanti puta... geras skonis

Bottle purchased at the source. looks similar to draft, aroma is similar too but slightly less citrus and a bit more pine. Taste, I’d say identical but mouthfeel on this is thinner, dryer finish with a little nuttiness. everything else is identical. Bottled within a week or two so this is probably as fresh as I’ll get a bottle.
