Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a delightful example of the classic pale ale style. It has a deep amber color and a exceptionally full-bodied, complex character. The fragrant bouquet and spicy flavor are the results of the generous use of the best Cascade hops.<P> Bottle Conditioned.

"lacking in the floral aroma that i like in pales and ipas, and a little more bitter and dry than i like. it is better on tap, but iíll usually pass this one up for something better. gets a little more kudos than i think it deserves."

Reviewed On: (5/22/14): *Glassware: Tulip *Serving: 12 oz *Aroma: citrus, orange, flowery, grassy *Appearance: Pale amber with a frothy white two finger head, which stayed around for the duration of the beer. The beer left some good sticky lacing around the glass. *Taste: Caramel malt upfront, pale malts in the middle, and cascade hop at the end. Magnum and perle hops in the bitter aftertaste.. *Palate: Light bodied, slick mouthfeel, fizzy carbonation. Finishes very dry, w/ an abrupt bitter finish. *Overall: I usually buy IPAís over Pale Ales, but this one is a great example of a pale ale done right. It has a nice hoppy bitterness, but not overdone where it is a borderline IPA. A staple for the style. Sierra Nevada is one of the pioneers in the American Craft Beer revolution, and this ale is a strong reminder of how it started.

A solid classic pale ale, good to say this has become the go to and readily available now in Oz. Great session beer, good use of Magnum hops.

355ml bottle poured in a chalice (I know, not suitable but the chalice gives me the chance of smelling it better). Around $3.5 the small bottle. Not too bad, in Switzerland. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale: Classic American craft with good worldwide distribution (bought this one @ Drinks of the World - Basel). A: First of all, nice bottle art. Beautiful golden-orange color. One to two fingers white head, which dissipates reasonably fast (but I think this is because of the chalice, should use a proper glass). Medium carbonation, anyway. Some particles floating around. S: A hop bouquet. Pleasant. Malt (soft). Despite of being an APA, reminded me an IPA. T: Good stuff. Refreshing first of all. Perfect for a summer barbecue (Not for the current Swiss 0¬ļC). Fresh hops and malt. Delicate bitterness. Iíve heard thatís a 37 or 38 IBUs. In fact, some times, it gives the impression of being a little bit more than this. M: Good. Quite balanced bitterness. A bit bitter end but does not overload the taste sense. Medium carbonation. D: Very good. I could drink a case of this. [ BA Review @ 2/5/2010 ]

From bottle 12.10.14. Deep golden. Diminishing off-white head. Fine and well-balanced aroma and taste of grapefruit, orange marmelade and tropical fruits. Bitterness and malt sweetness well in harmony. A superb American pale ale!

Pours a pale amber with a foamy white head. Aroma is light citrus hops. Flavor is also mild, a pleasantly dry citrus with mild bitterness. Goes down smooth. Very nice to drink.

DAA; Pours dark gold with a moderate to large frothy, moderate lasting and lacing off-white head. Aroma is loads of malt, caramel, floral, grapefruit and spice. Taste is moderate sweet and bitter with a moderate lasting finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
