jakeb4299 (25), sometown, Massachusetts, USA Dec 2, 2001 I’m not a fan of Sierra Nevada. I find them too bitter. Nevertheless, better than your overage beer.
penguinjive7 (66), Buffalo, New York, USA Nov 21, 2008 Pours a nice amber color with about two fingers worth of white head.
Aromas of citrus and pine hops are prevalent.
A nice citrus flavor hits at first immediately blending with the pine hops. Bitterness is stronger than I expected, which is definitely a good thing. I tasted a slight malt presence in the finish which rounded out the brew nicely.
This is an extremely drinkable brew. I could easily have a few of these with no problem. A great go to beer that can be found anywhere. Soon a be a regular for me I’m sure.

A nise big crisp hoppy flavor for a PA ,with just the right amount of malt, kind of toasty yeasty flavor to balance out all the hops.Very drinkable. Good stuff RickS95 (32), Evansville, Indiana, USA Nov 20, 2008 I had this years ago, but didn’t appreciate it. I just thought it was bitter. I’d like to think my taste buds have matured since then, and I tried this the other night with an open mind (and because they were giving away logo glasses if you bought one).
It poured a nice-sized white head. Dark caramel in color, filtered. Strong scent of hops in the nose, nothing unusual there.
Seemed highly carbonated and bitter in the mouth. Lacing was ok, I thought I remembered more.
Being a pale ale, it had the standard issue hoppy, bitter finish that lasted. But it was refreshing at the same time.
I had this while eating Mexican food. It really went well with the spice hot nachos. I enjoyed the beer this time, so much so that I had two El Gordo glasses (22-ounce) and got to take home to Sierra Nevada logo glasses. thomat (595), Göteborg, Sweden Nov 1, 2008 hazy orange with a small white head. Fruity and malty tones. Lot of hops, malt and bitternes. Medium body with a long bitter finish. dutch23mp (90), Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA Oct 31, 2008 As with all of Sierra’s beers the quality is great. Although I’m not considered a hop-head I find their line always tempting. This particular SN brew is well balanced and I don’t think the Hop taste is overwhelming. It is hard to give this a higher mark then the Harvest which is exceptional.
