does not count serveitcold (3), USA Apr 29, 2008 I sent thousands of dollars up to Chico, CA while my daughters were in school there. Many of the dollars I sent were spent by them on Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, a taste they found easy to acquire and cheap to maintain while living there. My Dear Wife and I often visited them during those happy years and always made it a point to visit the brewery, enjoy a meal together with our daughters and their friends and of course, drink some delicious beers. All of the SNB beers share a common aggressive hoppiness and craft brew texture, but of all of them SNPA stands out as the hallmark. This is the ale that launched a thousand breweries. It is not complex; rather, it is a highly hopped, fragrant, ale, that gets all of the basics down even to excess. The bronco malt goes toe to toe with the floral sting of the hops and the big flavors overwhelm and leave the happy drinker stunned but wanting more. This is the beer that the big sweet life wants. It is the beer that drives the timid underground and warms the happy smiles of courage with sunshine. It is the beer that lifted America out of the depression that prohibition inflicted on her beer. May the author of the universe preserve this noble brewery forever and never let it fall into the hands of shabby corporate ruiners. If a brewery would become a national park let it be Sierra Nevada. And when we visit, let us all share a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in celebration and friendship.
