This version has slightly less alcohol, bitterness and slightly more color than the bottled version. The hop varieties and malts used are the same.

Such a solid beer. Has all the right things going for it. Hops plenty. Not too sweet. Decent aroma. Easy enough to quaff but substantial enough to appreciate. Only downside is a slight funky aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Transfer from BA review on 12-6-12- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – The beer is served a golden-amber color with a thick one finger white head. The head has a great level of retention, fading slowly over time to give a Smell – The aroma is light overall. It consists of a light caramel and bready smell mixed with a small amount of citrus. Taste – The taste begins with a bready taste with a small amount of caramel sweetness upfront. As the taste advances the bready taste remain with the sweetness fading some. While the sweetness lessens, the bitterness increases as some flavors of a citrus grapefruit hop flavor come to the taste. In the end a slightly bitter, but very smooth bready and hop flavor are left to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather average in terms of creaminess as well as in terms of carbonation. Both suit the style rather appropriately as they make for a very easy drinking brew. Overall – A tasty and balanced pale ale. A good easy drinker.

Keg at the brewers house
Mid amber full bodied, moderate carbonation, subtle grapefruit aroma, caramel malt and bitterness at first become more obviously hoppy (pine forests) on warming. Fresh and herbal and very easy drinking.

Such a beautifully made pale ale. It’s lightly bitter, juicy citrus, very clean. Flavor is not over the top, somewhat balanced. Overall, a great beer.

On tap at Capones Hayden. Pours clear old gold with a thick cream-colored head with great retention and lace. Aroma is pine, pineapple. Taste is bittersweet, grainy. Medium bodied, somewhat low carbonation. Nice beer. I need to compare it to the bottle now.

Draft in a taster - nose is citrus. Sip adds orange and a slight malt presence. This must be old because I like the bottle version better.

Tap at Lazy Dog. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a thin layer of off white head. Aroma of malts, slight hops, and a nice bit of pine. Taste is smooth, slightly toasted malts and citrus hints.

Draft at the Sierra Nevada Tap House Reno. Pours a clear copper color with a medium sized fizzy off-white head. The aroma has some caramel sweetness, citrus hops and some toasted grains. The flavor is a blend of caramel malts offering moderate sweetness, citrus hops, hints of pine, and toasted grainy bread. Finish has some bitterness to it, medium bodied. Brighter and fresher on draft. Having this while outside watching people kayak on the river added to the experience.
