Pours a golden brown with thin off white head that quickly disappears. Aroma of bread, cereal, and something sweet I can’t quite place. Flavors of mild roast with a slight bitter hop presence. This was a pleasant surprise on a hot AZ summer.

Surprised to see this in an All Bar One, the times they are a’changing indeed. Lovely bronze pour, fluffy head that kept growing for a while - easy on the carbonation boys! Lots of citrus, pine and resin aromas. Good bitterness, short finish though. Overall, pleased to get this in what I thought would be a terrible venue for beer.

Cocks. Too chilled but perfectly passable. Few more to go but nearly ticked the place. No hipsters at lunch. Must be in my trap.

Draft pour clear dark yellow. Nose some grassy hop, and some malt. Taste reasonable bitter up front, a little less flavoring hop than I prefer, mid palate malt and bitter finish. Easy drinking IPA on draft.

Draft to pint. Looks good; a transparent burnt-orange with sticky off-white lacing. Smells and tastes solid; hoppy and malty. Tastes fresh too. Pleasantly chewy. Enjoyable.

Appearance:
Lovely copper and amber that glimmers under an off-white head that lingers thick kept aloft by a slow stream of bubbles. A few arcs of lace mark the glass.
Nose:
Citrus and pine trees mingle harmoniously along with grapefruit of all varieties – white, yellow, red, and pink. Melba and toast underneath and in the back. Hop resins create a sticky atmosphere. Toasted sugar. Lemon-lime oils. Essence of freshness.
Palate:
Clean flavor profile all around. Finishes dry and piney with needles and bark. White, yellow, and pink grapefruit start fresh and juicy with a lovely interplay of tart and sweet before finishing pithy and bitter. Hint of mint and menthol in the middle and in my breath after each swallow. Melba and toast offers silent support. Pine sap and hop resins in the back.
Final Thoughts:
For those not in the know, the bottle conditioned version of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale that you can purchase at any fine retailer of craft beer is slightly different than the one you find on draft, hence two separate reviews. Both are excellent beers in their own right though. Always a classic.

Was disappointed by the draught version of this beer. Nowhere near as tasty as the bottled brew but I guess it’d be a better bet if you were looking to have an extended drinking session.

Had on draft at the source. Notes of pine, citrusy, floral, bready, biscuit. The finish is dry.

20oz on tap at Cock & Bull. Reviewed this a couple months ago, not sure how I missed it while uploading my notes. Clear orange color. Good one-finger off-white head, with good retention. Smooth, light crisp carbonation. Medium body. Definitely smoother than Sierra from the bottle, from what I can remember. Light to medium bitter, less sweet. Light grassy hop. Some toasty malt. Little caramel. Classic American Pale Ale.

Not bad, but doesn’t really have a lot of taste. It’s also a bit on the fizzy side for my liking.
