I was really disappointed when I tried this beer. I was expecting something fairly bitter and hoppy, but didn’t get that at all. Good color and aroma, but it lacks taste.

Tap. Golden with small head. Mild body with big hops. Classic pale ale. Would be interesting to have this side by side with the bottled version. Not sure why this is considered different.

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2015 Particularly aromatic with hippy and citrucy aroma, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is very refreshing and easy to drink. Good intense bitterness and low malt aroma. I never found off flavours, both in bottle/car or draft.

A pale ale every beer drink needs to try! Tap at shamrock. Golden pale clear with visible carbonation that leads to an beautiful white fluffy head. Pine hops well balanced with sweat bready malt. Some soapy notes. Extra overall points for this being a true classic.

Draft at Beachhouse. Pours a clear caramel/copper with a nice head that lasts. Aroma has notes of caramel mixed with pine. Taste is balanced. Medium body and carbonation. Overall a really nice beer.

Golden-amber colored with a thick, white head. Nose of light caramel and bready malt mixed with a small amount of citrus. The taste begins with a bready, caramel sweetness. Then the bitterness increases with citrus and grapefruit that linger pleasantly on the tongue. Lightly carbonated. Balanced, rich flavor makes for a very satisfying and easy drinking brew.

Love this pale ale. Nice malty flavor combined with a flowery hoppy aroma and palate. Excellent brew.

Still good after all these years. Clean and hoppy with some caramel, finishes nice and dry. Classic.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours brassy gold with a white head. Aroma of light roast malt and hop. Med body, nearly. Flavor is light roast malt, with a touch of citrus. Finishes lightly bitter, and towards dry. Drinks ok.
Earlier Rating: 7/12/2007 Total Score: 3.2
Aroma of floral hop backed by caramel malt. Full amber color; head was filmed upon delivery. Medium bodied; moderate carbonation. Starts with malt, and it is firmly there. A little hop, arguably with citrus, comes along. The finish is only moderately bitter, not quite dry. The bitter does tend to build in the mouth though.
