3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle purchased yesterday at the Mills River, NC brewery.
The aroma is more hoppy than malty; lightly spicy.
The flavor is just as one might expect for this mix of styles: tastes like a pale ale (although this is a lager) with some (not quite 50%) bock added.
Feel: smooth body with crisp and lively carbonation.
O: Distinct yet highly drinkable, I can readily understand why this re-introduced beer is a "cult classic".

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a clear golden from the bottle with dissipating white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of pale malts and earthy crisp yeast. Taste follows, hint of bitterness, apple and dirt. Clean and full bodied, soft carbonation. Meh.

Tap at the SN tap room. Pours amber gold with a white head. Lite citrus aroma. Med + body. Flavor of light malt, tho not really bready, and citrus. Neither sweet nor dry. Mildly bitter. Rather refreshing and pretty drinkable.

12 oz bottle. Bottled on 03/12/15. (Sierra Nevada Brewing Co) Chico, CA.
Clear golden colour with a small white head.
Mild sweet malt and some hops in the aroma... mild aroma it is.
The flavour is mild hops, some sweetness and mild maltiness. Very drinkable. Hoppy for a Heller Bock.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
It’s baaaack! Out of retirement baby! I always liked this beer and am glad they brought it back, even if it is in limited quantity. It pours a bright clear yellow color with a small white head. The aroma is bready with mild noble and citrus hops with a touch of fruit. The flavor has some lightly spicy hops, southern sweet bread, a hint of grape and grass with a decent earthy, spicy finish. Subdued, but a very pleasant drinker.

This is a great pale bock that I enjoyed during a trip to Chico. Great flavor with a fruity finish. Overall, this one is worth the search for and I recommend it to all
