Malt Liquor? Having never heard of Pale Bock, I thought it was a one time, just for the hell of it type beers that Sierra Nevada decided to run a batch of. I guess it has actually been around for awhile because there is a 1989 tap handle for sale on ebay. Anyway, back to the review... On tap at the Madison Bear Garden. Not much of an aroma, as it was served very cold. Watery texture with a bitter kick in the finish. Some hops, with malt sweetness. Some cereal.

Sep 3, 2008 On tap at BT. Pours a slightly cloudy light orange/yellow with a very small white head. Aroma of raisin, light fruits, honey. Flavor of raisins, lots of fruit, honey, honeydew melon, and some wheat malt. Very sweet. It was ok, the sweetness didn’t appeal to me.

Sep 3, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger. Aroma of citrus and sweet floral notes. Flavor balanced between sweetness and slightly acidic citrus. Not overwhelming, but despite the sweet notes remained quite pleasant for me.

Aug 29, 2008 Tap at the Blind Tiger. Thick, syrupy malt aroma, a slice of rye, and a little chocolate. Bitter euro hops up front in the flavor with a pale, metallic rye taste. A bit crunchy, lettuce, a little sweet. Tough to drink.

Aug 29, 2008 draft @ Blind Tiger Sierra Nevada Tasting. Golden pour with aroma of malts, light hops. Taste is lightly bitered with some honey. Very drinkable & nice creamy body

Jul 13, 2008 I have (had) a full case of this and this is not the first bottle I have consumed. I drank this one at my 55 degree cellar temperature. Poured clear yellow with fat white head and good lacing. Nose of malts and hops in good balance, and a nice mouthfeel. Flavor is slightly sweet, and the finish is the same. Good drinking.
