Nice porter. Very rich and hoppy...something I would definitely buy again...especially when its cooler outside.

great porter! Nicey sweet aroma. Its malty taste blends well with its sweet almost caramelly taste. It is only slightly better then Ancor's porter. Still the best porter made in USA.

A more bitter porter, then again it shouldn't be a surprise coming from this brewery. Overall, not bad, but I prefer the sweeter porters, but that's just me.

Another winner by Sierra Nevada. Good example of a Porter. Dark brown with off white head. Mod lacing and a good mouthfeel.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 23, 2008 A black appearance with a moderate tan head. The aroma contains some coffee, chocolate, and licorice. This porter is unique in the fact I pick up on some citrus notes in it. I also detect some coffee, chocolate, and dark fruit. This porter bends itself on the hoppy side which is ok with me. Overall a great beer and easily accessible!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2003 Not bad. This brew has a light nose, a nice mellow flavor and a balanced sweetness. It is a little watery and could use a little more hops for my taste, but quite good overall.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A portly, pugnacious porter by the folks from Sierra Nevada. How dare I wax poetic on this succulent succubus swill. Sip after sip, roasted mouthful after mouthful...ok. I'm done. A solid porter, somewhat watery, but a good beer nonetheless. Nothing remarkable, although this one is smoother than most porters. Worth a try.

Dark brown color, hoppy aromas, chocolatey taste. More watery than expected, which is not stylistic, but for me is fine. Nice finish.

Nice dark pour. Hoppy aromas don't balance perfectly with the chocolatey textures. A bit watery on the palate. Nice lingering aftertaste. For a macro-produced porter, not too shabby.
