Aroma is malty, light chocolate and vanilla, wood. Appearance is brown, like a brown ale almost, with a very light brown, one-finger head. Taste is malty, caramel, coffee, a light finish. The mouthfeel is decent, a little lighter than I want but still good. Overall, this is a good standard but nothing too spectacular.

Makes a bloody racket. It’s like the click click click you hear in American films, at night. Crickets? Smooth and rich, very nice it is. That’s what you get with five malts I guess.

Just delicious. For the money, this is just about the best porter out there. It has a chocolate colored body with a lot of spotty lace and a rich, slightly sweet aroma full of coffee notes, molasses, and malt. The flavor is just outstanding. All of the tones in the aroma are strong in the flavor, and there’s a smokey, rich finish that just makes 12 ounces of this porter seem like nowhere near enough.

Chalky cocoa & smoked caramel aroma. Deep Blackish brown color with a fast dissipating foam head. Smokey flavors of cocoa, grains, and roasted caramel. Overall, nice balance with smokey flavors. I’d give this a B+ rating.

Bottle, served in tulip glass.
It looks very traditional. Deep amber, mahogany color with a nice frothy, off-white head.
Aroma is raisin, coffee, chocolate, and a lot of roasted malts.
The roasted malt is definitely the biggest flavor in the taste. It is a nice mix of American and British style porter: It does have a slight hop presence but at the same time there are notes of dark fruits and chocolate.
Overall, this is a great porter!

Nice porter. Cola like flavor with balanced malts. Nice tan head, perhaps a bit thin.

Dark brown color, much deep aspect with an elegant and foamy resistant nut head. Much alcoholic and smokey aroma, notes of braced malt, caramel, coffèe. Ashed taste, notes of roast cereals, overbabding alcoholic perception, medium prickly body, bitter and balsamic arid final.

Bottle. Pours black, with a small white head with fine bubbles. Bready aroma - malt-rich, with notes of chocolate. The flavor has notes of chocolate, coffee, and dark fruits. Fairly light on hops. Mouthfeel is a little thin. A solid porter, though kind of unexciting.
