Pours a dark brown with reddish hues. Rich roasted malts aromas. Chocolate, roasted coffee beans, vanilla. A really delicious porter, perfect for the winter months.

Nice full roast and chocolate aroma, pours black with ruby highlights when held up to the light with a thin off-white head. Full roasted flavor, with a moderate to thin body. Just a little bit of bitterness in this one, a nice solid porter.

Bottle. Poured medium dark brown. Great long lasting light tan head. This beer is both impressive and disappointing at once. Thereís not anything wrong with it-itís a delicious beer Iím happy to be drinking. Itís dark and malty with a medium body; however, it lacks the depth and allure of other great porters. Still, itís a delicious ale.

Pours black with a thick white head. Strong roasted flavors in the nose. Sweet body that has a little sweet hop finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Starts with great aroma from bottle. Pours dark with beige head. Taste of coffee and dark malts. Nice example of classic porter, unfortunately not my type of beer.

12 ounce bottle pours a medium brown color not quite so rich as a porter would be expected. Light tan foamy head that holds up fairly well. Not much aroma a little chocolate and roasted coffee. Seems to be a high level of carbonation and very little mouth feel seems very thin 4 a Porter. Nice flavor but seems very lacking.

Pours a medium-dark brown and is topped by a small beige rim that leaves some lacing. Nose is of brown malt, lightly roasted and burnt. Taste is not really sweet or bitter, has a light acidic edge. Flavors are of roasted malt, a little ash and a little fruity. Body is light to medium and carbonation medium to high, rendering a slightly watery mouthfeel. Overall an OK porter, not robust at all or really american in nature even. Just good.

DATE TASTED: November 20, 2014... GLASSWARE: Barley Creek pint... OCCASION: cold days like these call for a porter... APPEARANCE: another pitch-black body; off-brown head; slightly creamy; lacing is hazy and intricate... AROMA: beautiful brown ale hops; some doughy, bready hints--enticing ... PALATE: solid, rather easy-drinking and flat; a bubbly finish; the expected cola consistency....TASTE: earthy, slightly malty base that is appreciably roasted; hops evoke a vegetable-like quality; some coffee and cocoa, enough to add dimension to the profile ... OVERALL: indeed a working manís brew--invigorating and warming, though low in alcohol and not heavy enough to diminish its drinkability ...

Deliciousness! Fairly average deep brown pour w/ a foamy head & spotty lacing. The aroma is captivating w/ dark malts, chocolate, & roasted notes. The taste is robust w/ chocolate up front & finishing roasty & slightly bitter. This is a very good & drinkable porter!
