Bottle. Dark brown/mahogany body, lighter than average. Aroma has soft roast and a bit of old milk chocolate. Creamy, but a bit light mouthfeel. Medium soft roasty taste with soft cocoa and cream. Smooth finish. Good balance and very drinkable but I prefer my porters to be darker and more robust. This would make a good session porter because it doesn’t wear out one’s palate too fast and it looks like it is one of the more widely available porters (at least in the US).

Shared bottle. Dark brown with small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, hazelnut, toffee, coffee, dark chocolate. Taste is dark chocolate, medium sweet with roasted malts/nuts in backbone. Nice, complex medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Very drinkable.

Brown beer, small beige head. Nose is roasty notes mixed with coffee and chocolate, dry notes. Flavor is chocolate, roasty notes with a sour edge, coffee, very nice hops in the mix near the pretty dry finish. Lingering dryness and coffee plus hops. Nice blend of flavors.

A very nice porter, excellent for the abv in fact. True to the (American) style, big in flavor, dominated by roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, hint of coffee flavors. Delicious and quite dry in the finish. A touch thin, perhaps, but it’s only 5.6%!

W aromacie kwaśna kawa, czekolada, spieczona skórka czarnego chleba, delikatna paloność. Barwa ciemno brunatna, bardzo dobra piana początkowo, dość szybko opada. W smaku lekki porter w punkt. Jest grzecznie gorzki, słodowy, palony i czekoladowy. Świetny wyznacznik stylu. Przez to jednak nie jest super powalający. Bardzo bardzo solidne piwo bez fajerwerków.

Tends to be a bit light compared to the great porters such as Victory at Sea and Founders. It’s very good, but not quite outstanding.

Slightly undetwhemed by this only my second porter brewed in america and after the anchor porter had the other week was maybe over expectant its pours nice chestnut brown with large white and tasn head well carbonated and smokey just doesn’t delivery the knockout porter punch but decent all the same.
