3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle purchased from Tiffany’s in Kalamazoo, Mich. This bad boy has been sitting in my refrigerator for months and I’m finally getting to it. Tastes of roasted malt and dark fruit. Its not the best porter I’ve ever had, but it’s definitely drinkable. Not too shabby at all.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a deep deep red with a shortlived off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and a hint of hops. Great taste of lightly roasted malt, coffee, caramel and a whole lot of chocolate. Mouthfeel is about medium and it has a bitter-chocolate aftertaste. At 5.6% it’s in the "shallow end of the porter-pool", but the taste is very good. Still, the Narwhal Imperial Stout IS better. ;-)

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Dark brown clear with a good frothy top. Soft roasted malts, chocolate and a bit of hoppy greens on the nose. Really nice, easily approachable. Feels like an oatmeal, or choco/coffee- infused, black ale actually. Good medium body, easy, tasty. This must be one of the most un-offending porters I’ve come across. Yummy milky chocolate, but without being cloying or simple. I wouldn’t say it’s a good example of the style- too much milky sweetness, but pretty dang diddily good.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
355 ml bottle, parallel with SN’s Stout. Deep brown with tan head. Aroma sweet and malty, molasses and some spicy notes. Taste with a medium sweet maltiness, peppery, coffee and ash. I liked better than the stout

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle. The pour is a rubyish brown with an off white head that fades quickly. There isn't much lace to be seen. The aroma is very soft and light. There is a nice roasty character, with some hints of caramel and a touch of chocolate. The flavor is similar. The chocolate begins to come through a little more and the maltiness is still solid. The mouth feel is a little thin, but the flavor lingers well. This is a good every day porter

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Descent Porter, but a tad thin. Nice flavor but not as layered in flavor as a Porter can be. Still a good brew from a great brewery.

Damn this thing has some head retention! Deep deep brown but not opaque. Great sticky lacing. Interestingly sweet aroma, like brown sugar or molasses. Taste has a nice medium to rich malt character with some of that sweetness coming through too. Aftertaste is malty and a touch of coffee and stays for minutes. Great creamy mouthfeel too!

Great porter beer. Very earth aroma with a bayonet of flavors apparent on each sip. Very easy to drink while still full of subtly.

Bella birra, scura all’aspetto con una schiuma corposa color nocciola. Odore di caramello, noccioline e cioccolata. In bocca, scarsa carbonatazione e corpo asciutto. Sapore buono e profondo, con un bel finale e tanto gusto. Ottima birra.
