Good porter that Sierra Nevada stamped with their uniqueness. The aromas where of roasted malts but not as pronounced as I would have preferred. Dark cloudy brown with not a significant head. The palate was medium-bodied with average carbonation. Strong roastiness with a nuttiness. The hops presence was definitely there, which balanced it out well.

Black pour from draft at riverview. Tiny brown head. Nutty and chocolate notes. Oatmeal stuff.

As you would expect this pours dark but with a nice creamy tan head reminding me of Guinness. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate slight caramel and ash. Taste is lightly sweet and medium bitter. Although a little thin in the mouth it is rather smooth and slick. Overally a pretty decent beer.

350ml bottle @ home. Pours very dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. Light to medium body, average carbonation and a roasted malt finish. It’s enjoyable but doesn’t stand out.

A very good roasty, malty Porter. Smooth rich finish. Sierra Nevada knows their stuff!

355ml bottle poured in a chalice. Delicious Porter. What expect from a Sierra Nevada anyway? Sepcial thanks to "Au Grain D’Orge" (Crissier) to start giving attention to Sierra Nevada. A: Beautiful deep brown color with a huge beige head which dissipates leaving a thin and bubbled beige layer and many lacings around the glass S: Delicious. Caramel and smoked malts are a must. Some vanilla and yeasts can be felt in the end T: Delicious too. Light sweet up front. Caramel and smoked malts are a must again. Nice bitter "hoppy" end as a good American craft should be... M: Medium body and carbonation. Delicious bitterness D: High [ BA Review @ 7/27/2010 ]

Really not a fan of this porter. The aroma and flavor are dominated only by roasted barley, little else is discernable. Lacks balance and any diversity of character. The mouthfeel is also very thin.

Dark translucent cola-brown with small watery fizzy beige head. Aroma is of deeply roasted (almost burnt/ashy) malt, coffee, cereal. Tastes bitter but lemony, more roasted malt. Smoky but thin. Palate is thin-to-medium and very smooth (in a fine/watery, not creamy, way). Bitter finish. Relatively straightforward but very drinkable.
