Good porter that Sierra Nevada stamped with their uniqueness. The aromas where of roasted malts but not as pronounced as I would have preferred. Dark cloudy brown with not a significant head. The palate was medium-bodied with average carbonation. Strong roastiness with a nuttiness. The hops presence was definitely there, which balanced it out well.

12oz bottle poured into a long stemmed tulip glass on 16-Nov-2015. Almost black in colour with a creamy tan coloured head. Aroma of cocoa and coffee. Creamy bittersweet chocolate and coffee on the palate and a little bit of sweetness remaining on the palate.

Barely any bitterness but very rich on aroma. Taste is thick, malty chocolate. Hints of a coffee/deep woody note. Good beer over all for a nice beer at dinner time.

No del todo redonda. Desde luego entra bien pero al final carga un poco. Difícil encontrar y tampoco tan especial.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: NOV 24, 2015 Bottle from Foot of the Walk (JDW), Leith. Very, very dark brown. Lots of visible carbonation. Coffee aroma mixes with fruit and a bit of spice, almost peppery. Sweet caramel taste, a bit too cloying but still tasty. Gorgeous silky palette. Not one of my favourite SN beers but still well above average in general.

355ml Bottle from The Bishops’ Mill (JDW), Durham, £2.99
Black pour with a thin and diminishing, cream-coloured head. The nose is muted but some pleasant, rich cocoa does come through. It’s full of wonderful, indulgent dark chocolate flavours with some sweeter, creamy tones too. There’s also a yeasty, marmite bite which gives it a little welcome bitterness and prevents it from falling into the trap of being overly rich. Very good porter - I’d like to drink one a little warmer to fully appreciate the malt character.

Pours a clear dark brown with a frothy frothy brown head. Aroma of of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and some light floral citrus hops. Taste is is roasted malts, light sweet chocolate malts, nuttiness and a bitter hoppy finish that compliments the roasted malts nicely with a semi dry finish... Excellent porter.

Tried at Craft Beer Market YEG. Sierra Nevada tap takeover Nov 18. Not a big Porter fan so will give 3/5 for posterity. Sierra Nevada rocks! This just isn’t for me.

Excellent beer. The color, aroma and taste couldn't be better. Bitter and smoked flavor combined to create a great product.

Bottle - a wlcome addition to the Wetherspoons craft beer range. Pours mahogany with a big frothy cream head. Fruity cocoa aroma. The taste starts sweet with blackcurrant and light spice before cocoa and coffee notes come through in the more bitter finish. Nice.
