3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a dark brown color - itís probably the lightest porter Iíve seen in a while. Thereís a creamy one-finger head with an off-white shade. Fluffy and thick, it has decent retention and leaves behind good lacing on the glass.
S: The aroma is primarily nutty and lightly roasted, with a subtle backing of piny hops. Though theyíre a bit lighter than Iíd like, there are chocolate and coffee notes on the nose. Thereís even some brown sugar and caramel buried beneath it all. This is a surprisingly deep aroma.
T: Itís opening flavor is hoppy and very typically Sierra Nevada (read: Cascade). The excellent finish helps to calm down some of the hop bitterness, supplanting it with decent notes of roasted nuts and chocolate. The robustness is balanced nicely within the sweetness, even if the portery qualities are a bit downplayed.
M: This beer is almost as crisp as SNPA, with an upsurge of sweetness to help iron out any overt finishing bitterness. While the body is somewhat thin, itís so drinkable I donít really care. Itís well carbonated, too.
O: Delicious. Itís not as rich as some porters Iíve had - rather, the easy drinking nature is what gives it its wings. This could make a reliable go-to beer when nothing else is available.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 16, 2016 Pours deep brown with a big creamy light tan head. Aroma is fairly roasty: dark bread crust, chocolate, some notes of coffee, also prunes, nuts and a bit of toffee. Taste is fairly light, with bitter notes slightly ahead of roasty acidity and a little sweetness. Creamy texture, light to medium body, medium carbonation, a bit of alcoholic warmness. Fairly complex and very drinkable, lovely!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured out dark brown. 28ļSRM.
Nose overall is that of sweet roasted nuts. Chestnuts come to mind. Some slight aromas of old leather, that you tend to get more in brown ales. The nutty aromas tend to predominate in this brew.
Mouthfeel is soda or water. Palate has some nice thick roast-like flavors with light coffee, smoke, roasted chestnuts, black bread, bread crusts, wasa rye bread. There is some light malt flavor. Hops are noble, bitter, and are well-balanced with the darkly roasted malt flavor.
Finish is actually medium with charcoal, noble hop bitter.
Overall, this was more like a brown ale for me than a porter. From the palate, pretty well-provisioned. So, righteous in my book because they cared enough to brew something worth everybodyís while and calories.

3.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured a solid red-tinged black with a rocky tan head that lasted insanely long. Aroma mild of light toasted malts a bit of dust and not much else. Taste is a wonderful rolling of flavours; initially dry and low on flavour it explodes into bitter coffee, then a hint of dark chocolate, then into long sweet toasted malt with sweetness gently fading away into the finish. Full bodied and a touch creamy on palate, and very long finish.
