12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a dark brown color - itís probably the lightest porter Iíve seen in a while. Thereís a creamy one-finger head with an off-white shade. Fluffy and thick, it has decent retention and leaves behind good lacing on the glass. S: The aroma is primarily nutty and lightly roasted, with a subtle backing of piny hops. Though theyíre a bit lighter than Iíd like, there are chocolate and coffee notes on the nose. Thereís even some brown sugar and caramel buried beneath it all. This is a surprisingly deep aroma. T: Itís opening flavor is hoppy and very typically Sierra Nevada (read: Cascade). The excellent finish helps to calm down some of the hop bitterness, supplanting it with decent notes of roasted nuts and chocolate. The robustness is balanced nicely within the sweetness, even if the portery qualities are a bit downplayed. M: This beer is almost as crisp as SNPA, with an upsurge of sweetness to help iron out any overt finishing bitterness. While the body is somewhat thin, itís so drinkable I donít really care. Itís well carbonated, too. O: Delicious. Itís not as rich as some porters Iíve had - rather, the easy drinking nature is what gives it its wings. This could make a reliable go-to beer when nothing else is available.

The color is ruby brown when held up to the light. Has an off-white, khaki head and the frothy lace is quite abundant. Nice chocolate and light mocha in the nose. Medium bodied and creamy. Tastes of bittersweet chocolate, lightly roasted malts, cocoa powder, caramel, dried grass and light leafy hops in the finish. Quite enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice beer, I understand that someone might love it. However, it has that distinctive rye taste or something that I really dislike... Would not have it the second time if there would be a better choice.

Part of flight post-tour. Super solid porter although somewhat forgettable. Usual porter notes- chocolate/ coffee, earthy (willamette) and super roasty. About right weight/ palate- medium bodied. Tasty.

Bottle at tasting. Pours clear dark brown, thin off-white head. Big roasty aromas, coffee, malt. Taste is more of the same. Very light for a porter.

Bottle @ the Appellation Comely Bank tasting, thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - itís dark brown rather than the expect black or brown/black. Nice head. Nose - nuts and toffee, some light chocolate. Some roast for sure! Taste - yep, more of the same. Iím struggling to see why this is called a Porter but itís tasty enough. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a decent finish. Overall - this lies somewhere between a stout and a brown ale for me.

Good color, not as dark as a normal porter though. Good aroma and aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light brown, neat tan cap. Smooth brassy nut. Sleek bitterness, soft roast and nutmeg spiced sweetness. Decent enough carbonation and fading bitterness. Clean and neat but lacking in any punch on the finish.
