Ungstrup (11692), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 13, 2004 A clear brown beer with a huge light brown head. The aroma is dominated by chocolate and coffee and is quite sweet. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate and roasted malt. A very delicious beer. Papsoe (11030), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 18, 2005 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Very dark and pretty with a warm, reddish hue. Creamy, dense head and a nose full of roasted malt. Flavour of roasted malt, but not sharp, bitter or burned - this is surprisingly sweet with notes of chocolate. Very high drinkability and accessibility, with strong flavours in spite of a rather light body. 181005 omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 21, 2004 Bottled, thanks SpringsLicker!
Very dark brown, firm creamy beige head. Roasty, coffee aroma. Dry and earthy, rich on choclate. Medium bodied. Hoppy and lightly citric with pleasant, soft, bitter finish. A clean and very classic porter. yespr (7782), Copenhagen O, Denmark May 2, 2008 12 fl oz bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a lacing off-white head. Roasted malt, chocolate and hops in an almost perfect blend. Flavour is smooth roasted malt with a mild hops note. Finish is lingering roasted malt, chocolate and mild hoppy with a light bitterness. Very easy to drink and with a nice composition. Oakes (7030), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Nov 18, 2000 Definitely one of the world’s best porters. Not as hoppy as Palvasalmi, not as malty as Fuller’s. Just beautifully balanced.
