Bottle. Aroma of dark roasted malt. Underlying coffee, and perhaps some chocolate. Dark brown color with glints of gold. Not much of a head. Full mouthfeel. Creamy. Then the dark roasted malt character reminiscent of the old Guiness. Not so intense, but the same character. There’s a slight sour note, but the finish is burnt and dry. Hop is present, but the roasted taste dominates. Arguably more stout than porter, but very good, whichever.

Dark ruby, large beige head. Creamy and light fruits in the taste. Mildly hoppy aroma, but mostly sweet roasted malt. Decent burnt malt taste. Good balance between the components. Best dark beer from SN, IMHO.

A dark brown porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a smooth coffee with light acidity, caramelized nuts, espresso, very nice. In mouth, In mouth, a smooth chocolate malt with light iron notes, coffee grinds, a bit attenuated, but nice. 2 yr old bottle.
