Pours black. Slight red color in sunlight. Small silky off white head that sticks around for a few but doesnít want to spend too much time with you. Smells like roasted grains and slight hoppy scents blended to perfection. Maybe some creamy scents? Tastes like a good Porter to me. I taste roasted malts and tasty hops. No surprises here. Good solid beer with good solid flavor. Makes my taste buds want to reproduce. Iíd buy it again.

355ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£2.60):
Another excellent beer from Sierra Nevada as Iíve come to expect from the California based brewery, this oneís best bit seemed to be the fact it was so well balanced with no one flavour overpowering the rest, I even managed to detect the hops coming through in this one with relative ease which is fairly unusual for such a style of beer. Great from the get go, Iím just disappointed it has taken me so long to actually get round to trying this one but itís certainly been worth the wait.

Appearance: Black body with a quickly fading off-white head. Decent lacing. Aroma: Light roasted scent, but nothing else. Taste: Big roast coffee flavor, a bit nutty, and some alcohol flavor. Palate: Light bodied and finishes dry and clean. Very easy drinking. Overall: Itís a good clean easy to drink simple porter. Iím not jumping out of my socks or anything but itís good. Not something I would buy a sixer of, but I would buy a single every now and then or enjoy it in a mixed case.

nose: correct but indistinct. cacao, grains. smells clean and boring. palate: hmmm...itís thin and dry, possibly too much so, like guinness but with less flavor and texture and more of an acidic edge. very earthy. not sure i like it. finish is short and tannic like dark chocolate

355mL bottle Packaged 06/04/14 Deep ruby body, holds a dense beige head. Subtle but nice aroma; chocolate & caramel malts, citrus hop, some breadiness. Medium-full body, moderate carbonation, dry overall mouthfeel. Good malt presence on the palate - toasted nuts, biscuit, toffee, dark chocolate with a restrained but complimentary hop hit of citrus & leafiness. Medium, well balanced bitterness on lingering dry finish. Classy porter, certainly in the American caste, but very well made and drinkable.

Classic American porter with thin beige head and blackish colour. Malty aroma of coffee grounds, caramel, dried leaves, a lemony sourishness and citrussy hops. Sweetish onset of candied fruits, thin and ícalmí but smooth and supple mouthfeel, ending in a gentle and elegant roasted bitterness attractively paired with an aromatic, citrussy but not too agressive hop bitterness. Light, elegant and of very high drinkability. Very nice.

Bottle from deeside drinks emporium. Pours a blackish brown with a thin tan head which lasts. Aromas of roasted malts, dark chocolate with a slight sweetness. Taste is similar with some coffee as well as chocolate with an almost Turkish delight sweet hint. Quite nice.

Like the backpack in Dora the Explorer I say: "Yum yum yum yum yum delicious!" Roasty coffee aroma and solid after taste.

Pours dark brown, leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Aroma: roasted malts dominate, with some coffee and dark fruit. Taste: medium bodied, which makes the rostaed malts not too dominating. Not too sweet, some coffee in the background. Medium/low carbonation, which is perfect for this beer. A solid, very drinkable porter.
