This is traditional porter at its finest. Nice dark brown color with the smell of roasted barley and a taste that comes off roasted with a nice hint of the chocolates and carmels giving it a very flavorfull finish. This is what porter was ment to be and Sierra Nevada has pegged it. I would highly recomend getting some smoked sharp chedder with this one because the two together only enhances the taste of the brew and the cheese.

Aug 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark black with a two finger creamy tan head. Flavors of coffee and chocolate. It is sweet on the palate. Very great beer

Aug 5, 2008 (Bottle). Aroma of malt and coffee. Black with tan head. Flavor bittersweet chocolate, malt, coffee. Not as flavorful as some other porters. Finish is a bit sour.

Aug 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours a nearly opaque black with a thick tan head. Aroma is nice! Quite robust, lots of coffee and roast. Flavor is less delicious than the roasty aroma, nice malt sweetness. Slightly weak but smooth palate. Quality porter.

Aug 4, 2008 Bottle. Aroma coffee, roasted malt, light hops. Flavor coffee, roasted malt, perfect bitterness. Delicate but lively carbonation. While there is nothing that particularly stands out about this beer, it’s just a great porter. If I were rating to style, the score would be noticeably higher, but alas, I’ll stick to my standard scale.

Aug 4, 2008 Smells of very dark roasted malts, chocolate and coffee notes. Taste is nice and rich dark coffee/chocolate malts. A little watery with plenty of bitter hops. Very tasty
