Poured dark brown from the 12 ounce botte. Modest tan head some lacings. A fine porter from one of my favorite craft brewers. I think Black Butte Porter from Deschutes is my benchmark but I think this is better balanced than B.B. Nice chocolate / coffee sweet malt with just the right amount of hops to make this a nice almost chewy brew.
Highly recommended for fans of this style.

Oct 7, 2008 A classic porter. Black with a big rocky white head like an ice cream sundae. Nice roasted aroma. The flavor is caramel, roasted malt and that sierra tang, with a clean, dry finish. A little light on body for this much flavor, but I dig it.

Sep 16, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown with thick beige head. Roasty aroma with chocolate and some smoke. Slick and smooth mouthfeel. Roasted malts with some tobacco, smoke, caramel, bitter chocolate and english licorice. Very enjoyable.
