12 oz bottle. A strong aroma, smoky with malty and molasses components. Pours a dark, somewhat hazy mahogany with a fairly thick, fine-bubbled, pale tan head that leaves some good lacing. Mouth-filling aroma has tones of burnt wood, hops, molasses, coffee and unsweet chocolate. Texture is fairly smooth and fizzy, leaving a smoky and somewhat hoppy finish that sticks around for a little bit. Nothing really distinct here and it has that chicory thing going on.

This is one of the better Porters, I have tried. I am quite amazed that throughout the year from the various times I have bought this porter that the year round flavor is not up and down like some breweries. Sierra Nevada has been a consistent brewer. One note with this style and this particular Porter, I found this to be the best flavored when chilled overnight.

Pours a clear dark brownish amber with a nice off white head that does not completely dissipate aroma is roasted malt chocolate slight coffee and a slight brown sugar taste follows the aroma well medium to light mouth feel the taste is slightly lighter than the aroma. Taste and mouth feel a bit thin and light for a porter. But you really can?t expect too much for a budget price beer with that is excellent for the price. I actually had to come back in rewrite this about 15 minutes later when it warms up slightly and that the aroma and taste really came up a notch much better if you let it sit for 10 minutes to warm up and it is very good!!

The color is ruby brown when held up to the light. Has an off-white, khaki head and the frothy lace is quite abundant. Nice chocolate and light mocha in the nose. Medium bodied and creamy. Tastes of bittersweet chocolate, lightly roasted malts, cocoa powder, caramel, dried grass and light leafy hops in the finish. Quite enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice beer, I understand that someone might love it. However, it has that distinctive rye taste or something that I really dislike... Would not have it the second time if there would be a better choice.

Part of flight post-tour. Super solid porter although somewhat forgettable. Usual porter notes- chocolate/ coffee, earthy (willamette) and super roasty. About right weight/ palate- medium bodied. Tasty.

Bottle at tasting. Pours clear dark brown, thin off-white head. Big roasty aromas, coffee, malt. Taste is more of the same. Very light for a porter.
