Phone rate. Tap at Monkey Paw. Clear garnet with a two finger creamy light mocha head, very good retention. Big chocolate and fig nose, a bit of toffee and caramel behind, only a bit of roast. Flavor is much the same with some (English) yeast, a tinge of soy. Some light alcohol noted towards the semi-dry finish, which was roasty, bitterness peaking at a 3. Full body with light prickly carbonation. Pretty good--more chocolatey than I expected from an old ale.

A sweet creamy aroma, sugary. Hmm... itís hared to get a good opinion on this one. Basically, this is a really tasty beer thatís not real aggressive or defined in any particular aspect. Smooth, gotta be careful, could sneak up on you.

Sampled at cah downtown festival. Very dark brown pour. Almost like a porter and a barlywine mix. Fruity and dark and roasty and chocolate and sticky. Good stuff. Sweet and dark. But again more porterish than old ale.

Draft @ Rattle íNí Hum SN event. Dark pour with brown head. Dark and sweet malts, dark fruit, dark sugars. Flavors are sweet and have a bit of oxidation which actually works with this style. Touch of warming on the finish.
