On tap at rattle n hum. Not overly impressed.... Pours black. Sweet chalky and lactic flavors. Strong malt base.

On tap at Rattle n Hum during their Sierra Nevada event. Pours a ruby brown with a thin white head. Coffee, chocolate, toast and spicy notes. Thick and fruity with lots of plum. Malt, sticky and chewy roast along with some sweet dark fruit. Long sweet toast and roast. Very interesting.

Tap at RNH. Pours a nice deep ruby clear reddish amber with a thinning head. Aroma is very fruity - plums, raisin, prune, and grape juice- big sugary malts, caramel toffee, some molasses- earth toffee and slight smoke. Flavor is thick sweet molasses, brown sugar, earthy funk, light oxidaiton, some smokey hints, sweet and oxidized sherry- light earthy cocoa dust in the end. I dont usually like old ales for some reason, but this one wasnt bad.

tap @ RnH - Nutty toffee malts, licorice. Sort of like a hoppy brown ale, with hints of smoke and woody, bark booziness. Tasty... though I wonít try to top Andyís rating.

On tap @ Rattle N Hum. Dark brown and clear with some tan head. Aromas of brown sugar, roasted malts, smoke, and some hints of dark fruit. Somewhat sweet on the palate, medium bodied, malty, clean finish.

Tap at RnH. If this beer ainít loaded with smoked malt, then my name ainít Praharamdrayanan. It ainít, really, but still, this beer is smoky and "delicioso," as those new Kalhua ads say. I assume that means something in another language, but Iím just saying it cause I heard someone else say it so it must be good.

ANYways, back to the beer: it is smoky and delicioso, nuff said. This is my last rating of the night.
