Rain Check Spiced Stout is our answer to the merciless wet weather that plagued and slowed the construction of our new brewery in Mills River, NC. This dark, rich, and roasty beer helps us forget the delays - a Rain Check we’ll take anytime. Rain Check is a rich, toasty stout with flavors of burnt sugar and dark roasted malt spiked with ginger and lime to celebrate the end of dark and rainy days.

Medium bodied Imp stout that’s roasty and slightly sweet. Easy to 9rink at 9%. I don’t get any of the ginger or lime notes, but solid brew overall.

not quite black, lots of red edges. the faint aroma I do get is better and ginger. Quite spicy. Cinnamon, honey, clove, ginger, tree bark, roast starts and is overloaded b spice. I do get barrel at the start and finish, certainly whiskey barrel. Surprised by the ABV. it drinks much lighter than the abv suggests.

On tap in North Carolina, deep brown with a thick head. Mild roasted aroma. Medium body with flavors of brown sugar, light coffee, and a little ginger. Interesting.

draft to sampler. wow a nice little nuance to a stout adding a touch of ginger. not my favorite spice but made this one a little different. nice roasty malt nose with hints of sweet and ginger. the flavor was more of the same and it was pretty decent only a small sample but I like how the flavors of the roasted malts and ginger blended with the sweet.

Ginger nose and minimal head. Good lacing. Opaque coffee color. Sweet flavor with ginger hints, palate cleaned up nicely with the hops. Aftertaste lingers a bit.

Bottle via trade with bhensonb - thanks! Shared with Max and Podey. Pours a deep brown body with thin lacing. Mouthfeel is chewy with notes of sweet roast, light spice, soft fruit and dirt.

Pours an opaque dark brown almost black color with khaki colored head. Spice, roasted malt, and some raw cocoa notes on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied, a little thin for the style. Finishes with spice and roast.

Bottle... Pours black with a minimal, off-white head. Not much of a nose at all – maybe some malty and roasty notes. Medium to full-bodied with buzzing carbonation. The flavor is roasty and a touch acrid, but mostly just sweet and lightly spicy. Finishes crisp, and then bittersweet.

Sample during the "Inventory Reduction Beer Tasting" on 12/26/2015. The beer pours a brown-black color with a medium tan head that recedes gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate malt, coffee and spices. Medium-bodied with flavors of roasted coffee, ginger, allspice and roast malt. The finish is roasty with a malt and spice aftertaste. Different, above average overall.

12 ounce bottle. Bottled on 03/04/2015. Pours a dense opaque black color with a large rocky tan head. Interesting roasted malt aroma has hints of lime and ginger. Sweet roasted maltiness. Notes of cocoa, brown sugar, ginger and lime zest. Alcohol is barely noticeable. Certainly unique. Sticky malt finish.

Bottle. Packaged on: 03/04/15. A deep mahogany pour with a smallish mocha head. The aroma features an odd mix of chocolate, tangy limes, ginger, caramel, burnt grains, roasted coffee, molasses, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Lots of gross gingersnap cookies in the mix... Medium-bodied on the way down. The taste starts with plenty of caramel and molasses. Brown sugar and burnt grains in the middle. A little coffee and some dark chocolate finish things off with a bitterness that lingers. Tangy limes, salty soy sauce, and some warming alcohol throughout. Boozy. A disgusting aftertaste of Sprite and gingersnaps. Bleh!
