Ruthless IPA is brewed with this rustic grain for refined flavors – combining the peppery spice of rye and the bright citrusy flavors of whole-cone hops to create a complex ale for the tumultuous transition to Spring.

Clear copper pour with a big Tan head that lasts forever and leaves a lot of lacing all the way to the end. A solid dose of hops in the aroma, fruity and citrusy with a nice amount of carbonation. Bold fruity hop flavor as well with citrus hop bitterness, light caramel sweetness especially when warmed up a bit, and a bigger hit of the spicy rye on the finish. Tasty!

Bottle pours dark copper with a medium light cream head. Aroma is awesome, dank hops, rye, pine, big toasted nut notes. Flavor is well balanced, big toast and sweet caramel malt, lots of big dank hops, very green and fresh tasting with grass and evergreen notes. This stuff rocks!

Shaker pint draft at Martin City Brewing Company in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is mostly clear copper burgundy with a smallish off white head. The aroma is fresh and clean - floral citrus hops and a soft rye. Decent amount of cereal malt present in there as well. The taste is the nose, nice balance between the citrus hope, the rye and the cereal grain malt. The malt has a lot more sweetness than the nose suggested. The rye gives it a nice spiciness, pepper, but not quite that sharp. The palate is light to medium bodied, active full carbonation and a dry, even slightly bitter finish. The finish thins out a bit as well. Nice enough, easy drinking beer.

Bottle from Safeway in Davis, CA. Pours a nice copper color with a thick copper head. This was just another typical Sierra brew for me. If you like piney hops then this is the beer for you. Good, just not my style.

Attractive deep copper pour with a full, frothy cream colored head. Nice nose and flavor of caramel, tangy rye malt, some grain and bitter hops. Decent mouthfeel with a dry finish.

Pint on tap pours a orange-red with a sticky head. Light citrus and rye spice on the nose. Flavor is lovely hop citrus and rye spice with a sweeter malt backbone.
