bottle. Copper with white head. Smells like hops, peppery, a lot like pot actually, floral. Tastes really yummy. Pepper, citrus hops, floral, caramel malts, earthy. Very very good. I really like this beer, very well balanced. Long bitter finish. Really exceptional! There’s a lot going on in this beer and it all seems to compliment each other, YUM!

Pours a light brown with a thin off white head. This beer is very complex, hop forward with citrus and the rye subtly in the back. The rye stays with you for a minute after a sip.

Bottle. Pours a deep amber with a slight orangish side to it. Head is nice and fluffy... maybe about 1/2 inch on my pour. Aromas are pretty faint... a bit of soap and citrus is all I’m picking up. That said, flavor delivers on the IPA bitter punch. This is pretty bitter... with a nice grapefruit and citrus hops presence that has a little bit of that rye flavoring as part of the balanced malt profile.

Bottle. Poured a slightly bubbly copper color with a small white head. Aroma was spices, with notes of citrus hops. Flavor was similar, with definite notes of rye. Interesting.

Draught. Amber with a medium head. Bright fruity hop aroma. Good mix of toasty hop and chewy rye, and earthy/grapefruity hops. Solid ipa. Clean, nice lacing, good complexity, quite drinkable.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours clear amber with one finger dull white head. Some lacing, medium carbonation, medium body, and wonderful grapefruit & light pine aroma. Taste is grapefruit, rye and long light slightly bitter pine finish.

Pours reddish dark brown. Small amount brownish head. Nose is floral and citrus hop. Medium body. Taste is bitter citrus with a background of brown sugar and a finish that has a slight spice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a copper with an off-white head. Aroma is floral and hoppy. Smells almost sweet like cannabis (not skunky). Flavor is bitter from the hops with a bit of the bold roundness from the rye. Pretty good. What you’d expect from Sierra Nevada.

Bottle. The pour was a clear copper orange with an average sized (1-2 finger) off white rocky head that lasted throughout and had some really excellent sheets of lace that totally coated the glass. The aroma was pretty straight forward with a toasted light bread malt, a pine hop and an earthy yeast with notes of caramel, rye and a bit of a peppery spice. The taste was bold and powerful with a strong malty rye flavor and a touch of caramel in the beginning and the progressed into a malty, hoppy, peppery taste with a nice dose of rye at the end. The flavor lingered for a really long time with a good hoppy rye taste left behind well after the swallow. Mouthfeel was light to medium in body with a hoppy dry texture and a strong carbonation. Overall a nice and strong spicy brew with a great hop overtone...

12 oz bottle from a 12 pack purchased at a local grocery store. Pours deep copper with a 2 finger off white head. Pretty decent lace. Aroma is strong with rye and pine resin. Sounds a little odd, but it works. Flavor is dominated by rye with hops and malt playing background roles, way in the background. Moderate in body with a dry, bitter finish. I felt the rye was to harsh here. I wanted to like more than I did. Probably won’t buy another 12 pack.
