Pours dark brown with a thin white head. Aroma is very citrus. The flavour is very nice lots of grapefruit. A cool bitterness and a very rich mouth feel. Very drinkable. An excellent RIPA.

12 oz bottle Pours a clear dark copper body with a frothy large off-white head. The aroma is pretty great, hard to tell where the rye ends and the citrusy hops begin. Bright and intense without a heavy malt influence. The flavor is similar, the spiciness from the rye and the piney bitteness really meld well over the sturdy backbone. Another winner seasonal from SN. I hope they continue to release these new takes on their signature style. Medium bodied with a nice resiny stickiness on the finish. I hope this isnít a one time release.

I didnít mind Glissade, but if kicking it to the curb means we get Ruthless Rye from now on, them right on. This beer is absolutely delicious, one of the best releases from the sudden flood of new Sierra Nevada creations that have hit the market in the past couple years. Ruthless Rye has a nose that begs you to slam the pint, citrussy and pungent with a noticeable swipe of rye. Tastes pretty dang good; starts bright and citric and mildly sweet before a tangy, spicy rye note carries the beer into a hoppy, dry, classic IPA finish. Wicked label design too.

ok I know this rating seems strange. Here goes.... Has a nice clear dark straw color with a nice white head. lots of hops on the aroma and front of taste. follows through smooth, overall is a wonderful drinking beer. here is the problem........ I have had this beer a half dozen times now and every time it has caused a severe headache. the first few times I thought it was because of overindulgence, but the last few times even in moderation had the same results. so in the end its a wonderful tasting beer with awful sideeffects..

Clear copper hue, tan creamy lasting head, smells a little caramel, decent malt, not overpowering, medium body and carbonation. Rye is not overpowering but itís there, on the lighter side for what I would expect. Some grapefruit citrus, not too bitter. I like it ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A deep clear amber with a nice lasting beige head with good lacing on the pour. Aroma of caramel malt, earthy piney hops, rye, grains fills the senses with some subtle fruity citrus notes as it warms up. Taste is sweet caramel malt with some earthy, citrus hops, some spicy rye and grain notes. Palate is a medium body with good carbonation. Finish is sweet caramel malt, yeast, rye, with some citrus notes ending with a lingering sweet bitter earthy rye hops taste. Not overly bitter a nice balance of bitter sweetness. Overall a very good and balanced any tasty brew.
