Ruthless IPA is brewed with this rustic grain for refined flavors – combining the peppery spice of rye and the bright citrusy flavors of whole-cone hops to create a complex ale for the tumultuous transition to Spring.

Pleasantly surprised by this one. Deep rye flavor, with hints of citrus and grass. Really nice.

Nice aroma of citrus hop; excellent luscious pour with lacy frothy head; taste is nice marriage of high alpha hops, spicy bitterness from rye, and malts; nice brew!

Pours a nice deep copper color with an off-white head and plenty of lacing. The aroma has some citrusy hops along with some rye spice. The flavor is mostly citrus up front with the rye spice making up the aftertaste with a slight sweetness.

Arayaga2 (1914) - portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 2, 2012
Deep honey color with an inch of rock-solid tan head. Aroma is citrus with a secondary note of peppered meat. Taste has that too, with deep, pithy, almost tannic bitterness and robust bready malt into the finish. $2/12oz

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Appearance is a translucent copper with a nice crop of white foam. Good head retention and splotchy lacing. Aroma is sweet and citrus hops. Taste is mildly bitter. All around this is a good beer.

Bottle pours copper with a creamy khaki head. Aroma is sweet and spicy with definite notes of rye and a good dose of sticky citrus/floral hops. Flavor shows light caramel, grainy rye, grass, pine, and pepper. Overall boyd is moderate and the finish is moderately bitter/spicy.

Pours copper with white head. Aroma is citrus hops and caramel malts. Taste is citrus hops with a sweet malt backbone to balance it. Didn’t get much rye but it didn’t detract from the beer. Very enjoyable.

2/4/12 notes: Bottle. Pours clear, tarnished orange with nice white head. Beautiful. Aroma is pungent rye and sourdough, floral hops, cracked pepper. Flavor smacks of hops initially, with pine following along with perception of a taught, dry body. Well integrated, flavor-forward with a hop/rye-tea clarity of flavor. Very good.
