Ruthless IPA is brewed with this rustic grain for refined flavors Ė combining the peppery spice of rye and the bright citrusy flavors of whole-cone hops to create a complex ale for the tumultuous transition to Spring.

Bottle 2012. Aroma has notes of spicy rye, toasted cereal malts, smokey woods, herbs and citrus hops. Very interesting aroma. Darker amber brown hue with an average sized off-white head that mostly diminished and left great lacing. Flavor is medium sweet and heavy bitter. Palate is medium/full bodied and oily soft. Overall a wonderful showing from Sierra Nevada. Love the take on a rye IPA and everything about this brew showcases SN quality. Very well done.

Purchased from D.E.B. (formerly "Liquor Direct") Liquors in Covington, Kentucky - Alright, this one pours a very effervescent golden brew with an off-white head of foam and a delightful peppery wheat aroma. Tastewise, this is one damn good beer!

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours clear copper with a foamy near-white head. Cat pee, but mild, aroma over rye. Med body. This is superb. Lots of hop and that rye flavor. Iíll go with the description: peppery spice and citrus. Amazing.

The greatest beer Iíve had in a while. I am a huge fan of rye alcohol. Aroma was citrusy. Appearance is rustic brown with a tiny head. The taste is nice rye spice with a good whole cone hops citrus. the palate is parallel to the torpedo from sierra nevada. Overall I am a fan.

Not a huge fan. The rye is so pervasive. A tangy, copper, spice flavor that i canít get past. Seems well crafted and if you like rye this is probably up your alley but not my cup of tea.

Very nice clear amber with a white head. The aroma had some pine and citrus as well as some sweet malt. The flavor was hop heavy and peppery. The finish is dry and crisp.

Pours a light brown with little to no head. Heavy signature Sierra Nevada signature hop profile in the nose. Bracingly bitter on the tounge. Nice hop zing with the extra bite of the rye puts this one over the top. Excellent.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, long duration ivory head, with sea foam lacing, over a clear dark amber (SRM 10) body....nose is light pine, citrus, rye flour...taste is pine, citrus, toffee/caramel, hints of honey, light rye spiciness, finishing with a sharp hop bitter bite which lingers....mouth feel medium, carbonation low. There is little doubt that this is an American IPA. The muscular hop back bone is barely balanced by the malts, with the result that the rye is barely apparent. It is quite good. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

This one poured deep red or almost a brown with a just very slight tan head that is thick and creamy. Nose is an enchanting humble blend of spicy grains, malt cereal, intense fruity hops, some citrus, and very light touch of resinous hop oil. Flavor has some of the spicy malt notes but is neutralized by the intense fruity and citrusy hop dankness. More of the resinous oily hop flavors come out as it warms. moderately heavy bitterness which is quite sharp and lingers for some time like all sierra nevada stuff. Full bodied and moderately sweet but dry on the finish. Pretty good.

Bottle. Pours clear brown with a big tan head. Smells like a loaf of rye bread with a bit of citrus. Taste is very mild on the hoppiness (IPA) but very full on the Rye. This is a killer beer and I better get myself back to get more.
