On tap, north bar leeds. Wow wow wow. Smell is pine and yeast with apricot. Taste is hop bitter, malty sweet, bready and dried fruit. A fantastic beer on tap, sad it will be a long time before I try this again.

From my notes, it was moderately spicy, bready, yeasty, dough notes. some citrus notes, but overwhelmed by the yeast.

Bottle from Beermoth, Manchester. Pours a clear brown amber colour with a one finger thick white head. Aroma is floral and piney, hoppy and citrusy. Taste is fruity hoppy, slightly sour, and bitter orange. Finish is a lasting slight bitterness. Decent lacing right down the glass, mouthfeel is light carbonation and a little watery, but the head thickens it up a bit. Pretty good, not incredible, but decent enough!

Smells better than it tastes.
Pours a deep, golden hue with a small head. Grassy notes mingled with pepper and spice.
Drinks very bitter in an overwhelming way. Not bad but not a favorite for me.

12oz bottle Purchased from Charlestown Wine & Spirits RI. Pours a brownish amber with a white foam head that stays as lacing. Smells a little sour, a little citrusy some complexity nothing crazy. Lightly bubbly with a watery body and some bite on the end. Ruthless Rye has the somewhat sour grainy taste of a rye beer, the spice covers up the alc. and both hardly show. It is plenty is plenty bitter but in a refreshingly way as it isn’t piney like most IPAs, the citrus elements battle the rye and don’t show very well. Surprised I hadn’t rated this one before, all Sierra seasonals are solid except summer.

From a bottle. Pours a hazy golden with a huge head. Aromas of citrus hops, cut grass and malt. You can tell this is rye malt. Flavors of bitter orange, sweet malt and bready notes. Bitter grapefruit in the finish. Very nicely balanced. Lots of bitter citrus in this. Refreshing, but very sturdy.

The rye is in the taste and up front aroma. It also adds to the bitterness. I find it to be more malty than hoppy. Ok ipa though rye is not my favorite.

"Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPA", B@Vinmonopolet, brown bottle 12oz.
Out of spout roasted caramellic malts, from mug fruity fresh hops, berries, cutlets, faint citrus.
Standing off-white head, scattered lacings, amber body, not all clear.
Fresh fruity taste, roasted sweet malts, dark chocolate, resin, hops, some bitter surfing under it all.
Ok to palate, alright bodied. Finishes with fat roasted malts, resin style with warmth included, confectionery, orange and its peel. Overall feels quite exclusive, this is well brewed I think.
