COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ruthless IPA is brewed with this rustic grain for refined flavors – combining the peppery spice of rye and the bright citrusy flavors of whole-cone hops to create a complex ale for the tumultuous transition to Spring.

Hearty brew for the style. Tastes a little like soil, trees, bark and bread. Maybe a yeasty component. Heavy on the rye even for a rye beer. Some hops but not sure how bitter it is.

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, bottled on 12/4/2014. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, spicy rye, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate rye/bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, spicy rye, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/grassy bitterness and rye spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange zest, pine, spicy rye, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance, robustness, and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate rye/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp/sticky, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent rye IPA style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate rye/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

3rd of the SN 4-way ipa variety pack. 12 oz bottle pours a nice amber color with an off-white head. Aroma of spice, pepper and hops. The peppery rye flavor dominates, but a nice ipa finish. This brew was available in 12 packs the last few years, so far this year only in the variety case. Good brew.

Look: pours a light Amber. White head. Slight gaze. Smell: fruity hops. Orange. Citrus fruit. Sweet oranges. Taste: slight spicy rye on the back end. Orange. Lemon. Feel: dry. Leaves a thick film on the tongue. Makes my mouth water. Overall: nice beer. Good spiciness to it. Great rye IPA. First drank: home 3/3/15 Vintage: December 2014

Bottle. Pour a dark gold with an off white head. Moderate hop, spice and malt in the aroma and taste. Nicely done.

Balance best describes this brew. Everpresent bitterness that never goes overboard, some roughness from the rye. A shame this one is not made year round.

Poured from a bottle it is a clear effervescent golden color with a foamy head. The aroma is malty and the taste is strong very peppery flavor that resonates bitter on the palate

Foamy khaki head, peppery sort of gym rope citrus smell. Creamy and malty. Spicy rye flavor with a citrusy hop bitterness. There are two parts to this beer. Front palate does not harmonize as well as the back palate. Unique beer and always solid SN ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark amber color with an off white head and some lacing. Aroma of strong rye and spices with an equally strong hop presence. Flavour of peppery rye, assertive citrusy bitterness, turning more of a herbal citrus pithy bitterness towards the finish. Superior beer, my fave from SN.
