Ruthless IPA is brewed with this rustic grain for refined flavors – combining the peppery spice of rye and the bright citrusy flavors of whole-cone hops to create a complex ale for the tumultuous transition to Spring.

Really interesting ride of flavors from beginning to end. Starts with some brief citrus hoppy notes and a brief caramel-honey sweetness. Transitions to a nice malt ale with some dry bitter notes in the middle. Ending lifts to a dry finish with some more hoppy citrus and sweetness coming in for a gentle handshake at the end...as if to say, "Relax, I'm only 6.6%, so let's do this again soon." ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Backlog, had this in fall 2013. Copper clear, one finger thick head, some lacings. Smell is nice, with deep pine, hoppiness, citrus, hints of hay and old clothes. Taste is bitterly hoppy but not overly so. Some hints of spices, citrus and a lingering bitterness, finishes also quit dry. Medium body, average carbo. Kind of sticky texture. There is definitely a battle between the bitterness from the hops and the dryness and light spices from the rye. Works pretty good.

On bottle from Vinmonopolet Storo. Deep golden color, good foam. Immediate hoppy aromas, pine, some fruitiness and citrus- very light caramel in finish. Medium/full body & high complexity. Good bitterness & balance. Very Enjoyable

Poured from bottle into pint glass: Full disclosure, I’m in love with Rye beers so my rating might be a bit high: Pours clear amber with a nice fluffy white head. Aroma of caramel pine, and that very distinctive rye spice. Flavor is rye, caramel, and a huge hop hit in the finish but it’s not overwhelming. Medium body, average carbonation, a bit bitter finish but quite nice. I love this rye.

Great aroma, great coloration, hop forward taste without any bad bitterness. Possibly the best rye IPA I've ever enjoyed. Nuff said

Draught @ Bakgården Både &, Kristiansand
Pours slightly hazy deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, citrus, grape, orange and hint of rye. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long orange and citrus fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Pours a cloudy amber. Thick off white head that hangs around a while. Aroma of grapefruit, pepper and cedar. The rye character jumps out first on the palate. It's a nice, earthy spiciness that resembles cedar. Grapefruit, sour apple and floral hops round out the beer. Interesting flavors but the most dominating one is the spicy rye. This beer taste like it was aged on cedar.
