Ruthless IPA is brewed with this rustic grain for refined flavors – combining the peppery spice of rye and the bright citrusy flavors of whole-cone hops to create a complex ale for the tumultuous transition to Spring.

Backlog from lost & found notes: Nice aroma of caramels and resin, whole pine cones and a sweeter kind of peach. Taste is full bodied with malt, bitter orange, harsh rye and sharp bitterness. I love it.

Draft. A very pepper and spicy forward nose hits me up front. Followed by a toasty bready crusty malt. Crackery. Almost sweet caramel. Taste is more toasty and caramel with a hint of burnt bread. Decent but overall a tad lacking in hops for my taste.

355 ml bottle, vintage 2013, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. BB date 31.05.2014. Amber colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of fruity and piney hops, rye bread and pepper. Hoppy and peppery flavour, grapefruity notes, but also sufficient malts, again with hints of rye bread. Good now, but probably even better when fresh.

Bottle: Deep copper, slight hues of red-orange with decent clarity all around. Small bits of sediment hanging in suspension, capped with a creamy eggshell froth. Aroma is super dank. Heavy pine, hop oil, skunky reefer, bitter tangerine citrus, a small touch of toast. Flavor has a larger rye presence; more toasted, spicy, & drying. Still full of oily, resinous hop juice, dank hemp, white pepper, herbal & musty earthiness, a small touch of bitter citrus rind & lemon peel in the finish. A bit of caramel maltiness lingers with the spicy rye aftertaste. Good stuff.

12fl oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Bronze with a tall off white head. Cereal dominates the nose with notes of something hard to place. Sweet malt flavor is up front, followed by a moderate hop kick and "bourbon barrel"-y notes in the lasting finish. Full bodied, sticky, spritzy palate. Interesting brew. I almost finished it by the time I figured out what to say about it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle poured into a balloon snifter. The aroma is a strong, peppery and crusty rye bread with sweet marmalade and tropical notes and a light earthiness. It’s a clear and brilliant amber hue with an effervescence to it and is topped by a big frothy and rocky, off-white head. It has an abundant, messy, and uneven retention and lace. The taste is a medium high bitter and contrasting medium sweet. The light creamy texture is supported by a fluffy big foam carbonation. The medium full body juicy with sweet citrus notes and an abundant grainy contrast. It finishes slick with a bright candy citrus and bread crust swell that mellows leaving just a mild, moderate lingering clean pepper and rye bread.

pours a clear copper with a medium beige head. Aroma is floral and slight citrus. Taste is definitely hop forward, moderately hop bitter right from the start. There is some slight malt sweetness to balance. Long pleasantly bitter finish with good nasal linger. I like it.

Bottle from seasonal IPA 12 mix pack at local Smith’s. Disappointed this one is only available in the mix pack now. That said, not as good as I remember it last year, but still not bad. Coppery amber pour, nice, frothy off white head with ample lacing. Peppery notes with lots of bitterness really come through for me just as advertised. Not really an IPA in the traditional sense, but quite good anyway. Not sure what else to compare it too.

Nice gold Amber color with a medium frothy head on top. Fresh grain, medium intense caramel in the nose with hints of honey. First weak and very light hops notes building up to a more intense bitter lingering. Very refreshing, nice session IPA

Faint hop nose with some whole grain aromas. Lovely color: shimmering auburn. Caramel upfront then a nice tingly bitter. Overall well balanced.
