Ruthless IPA is brewed with this rustic grain for refined flavors – combining the peppery spice of rye and the bright citrusy flavors of whole-cone hops to create a complex ale for the tumultuous transition to Spring.

A heavier aroma, roasted malts, caramel, maybe chocolate. A little bit of spice up front, not much. A floral and alcoholic finish.

Not too hoppy, but with a nice complex flavor. Smooth with a little bite, but nice finish.

GUSTO: in bocca è veramente appagante.

Rated base on notes taken 21 Feb 2013 -- This is a nice combination of earthy hops and spicy malt flavor. I dig it.

12oz bottle - Not entirely sure this is a step up from their seasonal Glissade bock or not. It’s a nice rye ale, but it really lacks the hop aromas and flavors that are normally associated with a Sierra Nevada beer, which generally should have a showing of hops. A light earthy/musty character comes out at first, then some subtle grassy notes show up. Flavor is defenitely a showcase of the rye, with the spicy/tartness showing up loud and clear. The herbal/piney hops used also helps support the rye quite well. Overall, a nice beer at a good price. Not sure I would buy this on a regular basis over the SNPA as a regular drinker or not. But a nice beer to show what rye can do in the malt bill.
