Ruthless IPA is brewed with this rustic grain for refined flavors – combining the peppery spice of rye and the bright citrusy flavors of whole-cone hops to create a complex ale for the tumultuous transition to Spring.

12oz bottle poured into a balloon snifter. The aroma is a strong, peppery and crusty rye bread with sweet marmalade and tropical notes and a light earthiness. It’s a clear and brilliant amber hue with an effervescence to it and is topped by a big frothy and rocky, off-white head. It has an abundant, messy, and uneven retention and lace. The taste is a medium high bitter and contrasting medium sweet. The light creamy texture is supported by a fluffy big foam carbonation. The medium full body juicy with sweet citrus notes and an abundant grainy contrast. It finishes slick with a bright candy citrus and bread crust swell that mellows leaving just a mild, moderate lingering clean pepper and rye bread.

pours a clear copper with a medium beige head. Aroma is floral and slight citrus. Taste is definitely hop forward, moderately hop bitter right from the start. There is some slight malt sweetness to balance. Long pleasantly bitter finish with good nasal linger. I like it.

Bottle from seasonal IPA 12 mix pack at local Smith’s. Disappointed this one is only available in the mix pack now. That said, not as good as I remember it last year, but still not bad. Coppery amber pour, nice, frothy off white head with ample lacing. Peppery notes with lots of bitterness really come through for me just as advertised. Not really an IPA in the traditional sense, but quite good anyway. Not sure what else to compare it too.

Nice gold Amber color with a medium frothy head on top. Fresh grain, medium intense caramel in the nose with hints of honey. First weak and very light hops notes building up to a more intense bitter lingering. Very refreshing, nice session IPA

Faint hop nose with some whole grain aromas. Lovely color: shimmering auburn. Caramel upfront then a nice tingly bitter. Overall well balanced.

Got this in a 4-way IPA Sierra Nevada 12-pack in Bangor. It is drinkable, but not spectacular. Christine found it had a kind of a "baloney" taste to it that she didn’t overly care for.

Bottle from Wegman’s Williamsport. pours light brown with a thin khaki head that fades quickly. leaves a lot of lacing in the glass. Solid rye notes on the nose with some decent floral hop notes. definitely get the rye on the tongue as well with some solid hop bitterness on the finish. It’s drinkable though not as spectacular as Terrapin’s offering.

Deep aroma, layered bread, grass, roast caramel. Dark pour, minimal head. In the flavor, well pronounced bitters, rye, piney citrus. Medium full body. Well delivered experience!

Bottle. A: Caramel color with a foamy off-white head that clings to the side of the glass. Lacing. N: Toffee in the nose, peppercorn right behind. Biscuit and rye bread loaves. Pine and earth. Some grapefruit citrusy and juuuust a touch of pineapple from the hops. More damp fall leaves. T: Moderately sweet - more bready, and a solid amount of balancing bitterness. M: Medium body, foamy, prickly carbonation, touch of alcohol burn (though that might be the hops). O: A very good rye IPA. The hops and the grain complement each other very well, and I will be happy to go back to the box I bought to have the reset of these. Good show.
