4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma: Clear rye aroma with floral hops to back it up
Appearance: Clear amber with nice white head
Taste: Light bitterness with hints of sweetness trying desperately to balance
Palate: Full body, average carbonation, dry texture, long bitter finish
Overall: It’s a very solid offering, but not mind blowing. I’d stock it in my fridge, but wouldn’t hunt it down.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Grapfruit, pine and nice skunky whiff that I expect from a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Citrus hops is the dominant force as expected, but this is smoothed out by nice earthy and peppery tones. A little bit of biscuit in there for good measure. Medium body. Easy to drink.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass
A - Mostly clear amber with a moundy off-white head that clings to the sides of the glass. Copious amounts of lacing.
S - Heavy pine with some soapy grapefruit aroma. Rye is very present
T - Wow! Rye is pronounced right out of the gate. Green pine, herbal hops mix well with the bold rye. A grainy pale malt gives good backing to the spiciness. The hops provide nice bitterness and finishes dry and spicy.
M - Medium body, great carbonation, dry and bitter.
If you like rye, this beer is for you as the brewer was not shy with it. It was very pronounced but really seemed to compliment the excellent IPA based beer rather than overpower it. Well done.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours dark amber with fluffy foam head. Sweet, spicy rye malt aromas predominate right from the first pour. Taste is extra tangy, mixing sweet heavy malt sweetness, with resinous hops presence and rye spice. Solid body and mouthfeel. Sometimes comes across a little heavy handed, but overall a very fine beer. Different, and always nice in a market overflooded with IPAs.

Clear orange-amber-red colour with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, citrus, lemon, light spicyness and a light caramel malt. Flavour is light sweet, with a moderate bitter undertone and a long bitter finish. Texture is creamy/thick/oily. Very drinkable beer.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2013 bottle, at home. Looks good - chestnut orange and clear with a good white head on it. On first pour there was a little skunkiness but it didn’t last long. It’s sweet smelling and earthy with a fruity, overripe edge to it with malt and hops. Full and quite foamy on the palate, juicy too. A really smooth taste initially - malt, fruit juice and citrus bitterness which isn’t overwhelming at all.
