Ruthless IPA is brewed with this rustic grain for refined flavors – combining the peppery spice of rye and the bright citrusy flavors of whole-cone hops to create a complex ale for the tumultuous transition to Spring.

12 oz Bottle. Pours a hazy copper color with a huge off-white/tan head. Aroma of citrus hops and some light caramel malt. Flavor of peppery rye with some sweet malts and citrus hops. Some bitterness at the finish. Pretty good.

Bottle. Tulip. Medium amber with small off white head. Not much lacing. Smells of pine and fruit and grain. Tastes of pine grapefruit and a touch of banana. The rye ads a peppery contrast. A very good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2012 12oz bottle poured a hazy amber color with good carbonation and a ivory white head. Aroma was a pleasant rich resiny hop smell with a hint of citrus. Bitter grapefruit and toasty rye flavor. Hops definitely steals the show. Overall a good beer for hops lovers. Might be a little bitter for some folk. I would buy it again. ---Rated by Sschliv via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Interesting beer this one. Had some Rye beer in the past and this one is an interesting take on the style. Hopped like an IPA with fruity notes coupled to a lightly soapy floral character. The star of the show is the earthy, peppery kick of the malt which can be quite overpowering. Probably a bit of a ’marmite’ beer I suspect!

Une autre bière de mon copain Steve. Thanks dresden!

Wasn’t all impressed with this rye IPA. The aroma had a lot of sweetness without much citrus hop aroma. Taste had the spicy rye and good bitterness, but I thought there was too much harshness. Little overcarbed. Dry.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy, deep amber with a small beige head. Strong aroma of rye with some citrusy hops in the background. Flavor is hoppy and full with a moderately strong and peppery rye component, which gives way to a dry, tarty finish with some lingering alcohol and malt stickiness. This will be a regular in my fridge.

Love it! Very much like their regular IPA. Bright brass colored with a thick and rocky head. All the usual aroma of citrus and pine with a li’l sumpin’ extra, a grainy kind of spiciness - ginger and nutmeg, but not in a holiday beer kind of way. Flavor is mostly hops and then bitter hops, just barely enough malt to keep up, then that spicy-grainy flavor in the finish. Could use more rye flavor for the style. And a little more carmel malt to counter the hops, but what do you expect from SN? Still, this is a flavor bomb.
