Bottle at home, from a case my parents brought back from Vegas for me. First off, I love the label - it has a whole Steven Kingís Dark Tower vibe to it, the agrarian, old-west feel, the darkness of the image, suggesting that woman on the label is gazing out on a barren field, and picturing a long winter whoring herself out to horny stableboys to feed her children through the long cold, winter. Ruthless. Pours hazy deep russet bronze, thick off-white head, lovely lacing. One bonus point applied to appearance, just for how rad the label is. I realize thatís wrong, but Iím doing it anyway. Nose is spicy cheesy citrus hops, which play of the rye earthiness surprisingly well, not detecting tons of complexity here, but if you spend any time at all looking at my ratings, you know I LOVE me some Rye IPA, so while this isnít terribly complex, itís smells as appealing as all get-out! Is the old-westiness of the label bleeding into my rating lingo? Darned tootin! Flavours of spicy rye, and nice PNW hoppiness, lemon, grapefruit, cedar, juniper, rye, and just something lingeringly doughy right at the back. Exceedingly pleasant.

Pours a clear copper with a large creamy light brown head that sustains itself leaving moderate lacing. Moderate to strong citrus and herbal hops with respectable malt backbone that is toasted and nutty. Subtle woody tones. Moderate body with medium carbonation. Medium finish that is primarily bitter. This is a great beer.

Strong aroma has a decided overtone of rye with hints of malt and hops and a subtle note of apple. It pours a clear, dark copper with a thick, fluffy, pale cream head that hangs around for a while. Rye flavor has a strong hoppy note and hints of malt and fruit, both apple and grapefruit. Smooth, firm-bodied texture has a good tingle to it.

12oz bottle from rozis pour is a medium orange and nose is of hops and little else, only after the second sip do I find the rye and then I canít get rid of it which isnít a bad thing as it adds a nice spice to the beer

A nice solid offering from Sierra Nevada, if not a little run of the mill. I donít think they make incredible beers; they make solid beers that are great year round. Aroma was dank green hops with notes of earth and mud. Pour was a nice rustic dark gold with a one finger white head. Taste was very bitter and hoppy. Very earthy with strong bitter hops drying the mouth. The unmistakeable rye flavor stays in the mouth after the finish. Nice carbonation.

Pours clear brown with a medium sized head. Aroma is spicy hops with a bit of caramel. Medium in body with lively carbonation. Flavor is fairly dry with just enough sweetness to offset the hops.

Pours clear dark copper with a off white head and a nice rye aroma. Has that wonderful earthy rye flavour with a nice strong hop backround. Iím enjoying this beer very much although my favourite rye IPA is still mountain goats rare breed rye.

Copper pour with a rocky eggshell white head. Aroma is sweet with pine and light citrus hop notes. This one is nearly full-bodied with a nice creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is piney and citrusy with a nice sticky, sweet back end. The rye does indeed put a bit of spice into this one. This is one fantastic brew, I must say. Iím a regular drinker of Terrapin Rye and this blows it out of the water. Very refined, I imagine this one will stick around for a long time.
