3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light brown color and a thin, lacing head. Mild hop aroma with flowers. Flavor has dry grain and also dry, floral hops with citrus. A good ipa.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPA has a thick, creamy, off-white head and a mostly clear, copper appearance, with lacing, streaming bubbles, and some fine particulate matter (Iím guessing itís yeast) floating about at the bottom. The aroma is strong, and one gets heavy citrus (grape fruit), sweetness, and some bread, and the taste is mostly citrus, sweetness, and bread. Mouthfeel is medium and soft, and the finish is easy-going and mostly dry. Overall, this is a most excellent beer. RJT

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance: amber gold, short off-white head. Aroma: powerful notes of citrus, mainly grapefruit, with hints of a bready malt backbone. Taste: a bit of toasted bread with the barest hint of rye spice, then a crushing wave of grapefruit and resin as the hops kick in. Finish: extremely dry, medium length, and pretty bitter. Notes: Was hoping for a lot more rye heat and spice. To me, just another IPA.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
12oz bottle poured into a Shaker at 45į. Color is a big bright gold, nice carbonation and a small tight white head. Aroma is strong, almost stinky concentrated hop scent. It has a lighter medium body that goes down with a crisp mouth feel. Flavor jumps out with big hops of pine sap and citrus then the rye comes in giving it a little bit of spice before ending with a bold bitterness. After taste is cloddy with more pine and citrus. Overall I donít like it all that much, its over hop which overwhelms the flavor.

3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured into a pint glass. A deep copper color, but still almost transparent with a finger of head. Great lacing.
Big malt smell, the rye is there.
Taste starts balanced then malty malt, big rye element so itís not sweet. Thatís followed by a load of hops that breaks up the rye malt with their bitterness. Ends with the bitter on the back of the tongue.
Crisp and clean texture. Medium body and moderate carbonation.
Itís a heavy hitting rye ale. Must enjoy punishing malt bill and hop profile to like it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
pours clear copper, dense white ring. nose is rye, grain, hemp, citrus with a bit of pepper. once on the palate, resin, rye, sweet malt, wet hop, soap. really clean, somewhat rich, dry bitterness that builds. Quite good and well rounded.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle. Pours brown amber with a white head and decent lacing. Another solid offering from Sierra Nevada. A good IPA with a subtle rye flavor along with the citrus and pine.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear coppery color with rapidly depleting tan head. Some lacing was apparent. The aroma was overwhelmingly citrus/pine. Initially one taste grapefruit and feels the carbonation. This gives way to a strong grainy (rye) aftertaste. The mouth feel is medium. Overall a very refreshing beer. Would be wonderful at the end of a hot day.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Keg at North Bar Leeds. My first rye. What a milestone. In a sense. Aroma is pungent hops, with malts caramel but also a bit of a wet dog note that spoils it. Taste is very nice - grassy hops up front balanced very nicely with biscuity malt and that sweet/spicy rye note. Tasty. Medium mouthfeel, good carbonation, long balanced sweet/bitter finish. Very nice indeed.

Chaucers Cellars - 9-Mar-12- soapy light sweet honey malt aroma. Head dissapates quickly, lowish head, clear brown red colour. Honey, big celery, resin flavour. Bitter pine hop light sweet malt finish and pine soap aftertaste.
