Draught at Clark Street Ale House. Clear dark amber - white head. Nice hoppy. Rye. Spicy malty. Lovely high bitterness. Roasted. Citrus. Grape fruits. Nice.

She pours with less head than Iíd expected but itís a beautiful beer - amber with deep reds. It looks to me like bubbles in a clear whiskey. Itís a lightly sweet but heavily bittered beer that trails across the palate like itís plugged in and I love that. Ruthless Rye is a spicy, floral-infused but sharply brewed pint of awesomeness that became the perfect finale to a short, pleasantly warm winter here in Montana. Cheers.

Bottle. Clear coppery brown pour with a foamy beige head that lasts well. Spicy, malty nose has notes of juniper, pepper, caramel, pine and nuts. Flavour is a little thin and watery, and is a little more earthy, but is essentially the same as the aroma with the pepper, pine and caramel standing out. Mouthfeel is fairly dry with lots of soft carbonation and a lingering spicy, bitter finish. Nice enough IPA, not a lot of noticeable input from the rye and probably not one I would drink many of, but still an ok brew.

This one has a slightly bready nose with a tiny undercurrent of caramel and a little grass. The taste has that usual hoppy taste with a strong grapefruit flavour that rips down the middle of your tongue. In contrast, thereís an unfocused flavour which spreads across the whole tongue - is it the rye? Frankly I donít know what rye tastes like, but I can say that itís pretty rough, but funnily enough thatís not necessarily a bad thing.

Light walnut color with a pillowy off-white head. Aroma is herbal, earthy hops and peppery grain. Flavor is big piney hops up front and rye spice fading into a creamy malt background. Long finish of piney, earthy bitterness. Medium to full bodied with a creamy palate and moderate carbonation.

It poured a deep copper color with an off-white head. The aroma was of citrus hops with some rye spice. The flavor was citrus up front with the rye spice making up the aftertaste with a slight sweetness.

Pours a deep rusty red/orange with a billowy white head, great lacing all the way down. The aroma is a little earthy, with some sweetness, defiantly some fruity hop aromas. I defiantly pick up the rye in the flavor, hints of tobacco, with a bitter hop finish. Pretty light body with a modernity high carbonation.

[355ml bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds] Pours dark amber brown, decent white head but fades to a thin lacing. Sweet fruit on the nose from the hops - the rye comes out on the flavour. Fruity hop first, then spicy pepper finish, bitter, bready, and very earthy. Lots of spicy rye on the finish [19032012]

A muddy brown color with a thin beige head. Aroma is earthy, spicy hops and malt, some dryness. Taste is again earthy, spicy, peppery, a good rye.
