3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
In bottle, bought from Stirchley Wines in May 2012. Not a lot or aroma initially as beer was a little cold from the fridge, but as it warmed up more resiny hop scents came out. Lots of hop oil bitterness in the initial flavour, which gives way to a great ’bready’ aftertaste and slightly sweet, yeasty note. One of the few rye beers I’ve had that have seemed properly balanced, where the rye gives a different and interesting backnote to the hop flavours.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Look: pours a light Amber. White head. Slight gaze.
Smell: fruity hops. Orange. Citrus fruit. Sweet oranges.
Taste: slight spicy rye on the back end. Orange. Lemon.
Feel: dry. Leaves a thick film on the tongue. Makes my mouth water.
Overall: nice beer. Good spiciness to it. Great rye IPA.
First drank: home 3/3/15
Vintage: December 2014

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Balance best describes this brew. Everpresent bitterness that never goes overboard, some roughness from the rye. A shame this one is not made year round.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured from a bottle it is a clear effervescent golden color with a foamy head. The aroma is malty and the taste is strong very peppery flavor that resonates bitter on the palate

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Foamy khaki head, peppery sort of gym rope citrus smell. Creamy and malty. Spicy rye flavor with a citrusy hop bitterness. There are two parts to this beer. Front palate does not harmonize as well as the back palate. Unique beer and always solid SN

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark amber color with an off white head and some lacing. Aroma of strong rye and spices with an equally strong hop presence. Flavour of peppery rye, assertive citrusy bitterness, turning more of a herbal citrus pithy bitterness towards the finish. Superior beer, my fave from SN.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 FL. OZ. Bottle. Pours a nice amber with a lovely head of just off white foam. Aroma: caramel, bread, cereal, resin, dough, barnyard, cheese, cooked vegetables, nice. One of the nicest palates I’ve had from an IPA: medium body, creamy, slick feel, soft carbonation, very little stickiness, and a long lingering gently bitter finish. Cheers!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a copper from a bottle. Nose is some piney hoppiness, some caramel. Flavor is not as pronounced as I would have hoped on the rye, just another IPA.
