Ruthless IPA is brewed with this rustic grain for refined flavors – combining the peppery spice of rye and the bright citrusy flavors of whole-cone hops to create a complex ale for the tumultuous transition to Spring.

Poured into a pint glass. A deep copper color, but still almost transparent with a finger of head. Great lacing. Big malt smell, the rye is there. Taste starts balanced then malty malt, big rye element so it’s not sweet. That’s followed by a load of hops that breaks up the rye malt with their bitterness. Ends with the bitter on the back of the tongue. Crisp and clean texture. Medium body and moderate carbonation. It’s a heavy hitting rye ale. Must enjoy punishing malt bill and hop profile to like it.

Slightly hazy amber colored beer with big white head leaving lacing. Aroma has rye, pine, resin and peat. Flavor is piney and herbal bitter and creamy rye bready sweet. Palate is quite thick with quite soft carbonation and feel of bitterness. Finish is strong with heavy bitterness. Aftertaste is dry, grapefruity and rye bready, a bit soapy and acidic. I would like some fruityness – perhaps it’s left to the other side of the Atlantic.

Bottle. Very clear bronze appearance with a small head. Slightly spicy with some subtle hops. Different and enjoyable.

Pours a deep copper with a decent foamy off-white head that stays for a bit. Nice lacing. Aroma of pine resin, hay and grainy malt. The rye gives it an earthy taste with a bit of sweet spice. It also balances nicely with the hops. It’s bitter, but not overly so. It does give a nice tingle to the tongue. Medium mouth without a lot of carbonation. Definitely a solid beer as you would expect from SN.

Very nice clear amber pour with a sizeable off white head. Great combination of spicy rye notes and citrus on the nose. The flavor follows suit with great balance. Slight bread notes emerge as it warms. Well done.

Cloudy copper color, white head. Citrus and floral nose, hints of resin and spice. Caramel and resin taste, citrus notes, peppery, moderate bitterness. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy amber body with a medium off-white head. Steady carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of citrus, weak coffee, nail varnish and a hint of vomit. Flavour of wood, grapefruit and green leafy hops. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Easy drinking but a bit dull - strange aroma, too...

Nice golden and slightly reddish color. Very thick white head. The aroma is ipa-ish. The taste also lacks the typical bitterness. Still quite a bitter aftertaste. Surprisingly flat palate for the foam it produced in the beginning. Overall I would say a good neutral IPA with something specific in the taste that i have difficult to describe but i quite like.

Bottle from systembolaget. Pour with a rich of white head. Honey and some tropical fruit. But not very hopy. Full body with great bitterness, around 10 centigrades and perfect this tropical Swedish summer evening

Brown hazy body, thin white head with a yellow tint. Faint hoppy aroma. Nice soft taste with fairly bitter after taste. Smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation. An ok IPA, not a big fan of the rye version though.

Pours a dark amber body with a thick head. Typical IPA aroma but a balanced and a little creamy taste. Very nice for an IPA :) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
