COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ruthless IPA is brewed with this rustic grain for refined flavors – combining the peppery spice of rye and the bright citrusy flavors of whole-cone hops to create a complex ale for the tumultuous transition to Spring.

Delicious aromas of resin and pepper. It’s a flawless amber brown. It has a sticky-sweet flavor that accentuates the rye perfectly. The hoppy sweetness lingers just long enough to bring you back for another sip. This is one of my favorite IPAs and a perfect choice if you’re looking for something slightly different out of an India Pale.

Pours golden with thick head head that fades to thin persistent head. Spicy, herbal, peppery aroma. Medium to full bodied on the palate with nice sticky feel on the tongue. Good lacing on the glass. Overall, really enjoyable beer. Want another!

February 2012. Bottle. Deep amber color with a white head. Aromas of pine, citrus and spice. Very nice and structured IPA.

355ml bottle. Clear amber colour with average, firm, frothy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Dry, grainy aroma, minimally spicy, peppery hints of dark rye bread. Taste is dry hoppy, hints of mineral, chalk, dry dark rye bread, cautious caramel malty undertones. Narrow, no complexity, underdeveloped hop flavours. What a bummer!

355ml Bottle from The Cave, Glasgow:
Caramel malts and an earthy, slightly spicy aroma. There is some citrus hops and a few touches of pine once the beer opens up some. I could also detect some grapefruit and hints of alcohol.
Copper amber colour with some red tinges throughout. The head is a half cm, foamy white one with nice retention.
Citrus and a pine hop taste with some grapefruit and a chalky bitterness. There is also a caramel malt taste and some light earthiness. This is followed by some rye, spice and faint hints of wheat plus some light tropical fruits.
Medium with a tangy citrus feel and plenty of pine bitterness around the middle to the end. There is some hints of alcohol and a bubbly, alcohol laced feel to the beer. Carbonation is mild too.

Bitter and tropical fruit laced beer although it’s definitely not a classic from Sierra Nevada. It is still a nice beer, just not their best offering.
