The nose has some notes of leather and caramel followed by some citrus. The Appearance a nice copper color with with a two finger fluffy head the laces to the bottom of the glass. The taste is citrus more orange than grapefruit. The carbonation rushes up front and a dryness lingers at the back. This is a very good beer, that I highly suggest folks try.

Pours clear copper with a large, fluffy white head. Smells both spicy and bitter, a solid malt base supported by a plethora of hops. Tastes spicy from the rye, bitter from the hops, and all around fantastic. Medium-bodied with a slick texture and decent mouth-carbonation, Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPA finishes with a blend of spicy and bitter that leaves you wanting more.

I like having this beer in my imported english pub glass. I personally think that this beer is good with red meats and enjoyed on late evenings. I love pale ales and I have tried quite a few. Alot of them I have not been happy with like Bass Pale Ale; for something that suppose to be so old taste so ’commercialized’. I highly recommend this to anyone that loves a beer that has a bold taste.

This is an outstanding beer. Real big flavor, but not so thick that you have to chew on it. Lots of spicy hop aroma, its a pretty amber, tons of flavor of hops but not overly bitter and balanced by rye malt flavor. One of my new favorite beers!

355ml bottle. Dark amber colour with a big pillow of frothy beige foam. Looks great . Super strong aroma filled with hops and a bit of caramel in the background. The flavour is big and bold with a peppery backdrop. Lingers on the palate and the flavour stays long after the beer has gone.

This beer was really done! I especially loved the intrusive balance of hops and the explosion of rye. This was one of the best rye ipa’s I have had. Another awesome product from Sierra Nevada.

The greatest beer I’ve had in a while. I am a huge fan of rye alcohol. Aroma was citrusy. Appearance is rustic brown with a tiny head. The taste is nice rye spice with a good whole cone hops citrus. the palate is parallel to the torpedo from sierra nevada. Overall I am a fan.

Smells great, some hops mixed with a milky grain. this is quite tasty. Hops yet smooth in the finish. A rye beer to rival Rocket from Bear Republic.

A gorgeous dark amber/orange, shiny/clear, with luscious and elegant creamy white head. Very bubbly and beautiful head. About a finger thick. Good retention, with big lacing around the glass. All the usual great characteristics expected from the great SN.
Heavy doses of rye and lovely hits of hop and citrus feast upon the nose. Well-balanced on the nose, as the rye competes with the hops for the title. Very good.
The rye dominates the flavors, balancing and complimenting the citrus hops, with a good slight malt edge. It is well-done with a medium to heavy body, average carbonation level. The rye can be brutal for those not used to it, but this is a welcome experimental IPA.
I like this a lot, but then again, this is Sierra Nevada here, so I pretty much figured I would. Good to have an IPA that’s not just a regular for a change.
