Pours golden with thick head head that fades to thin persistent head. Spicy, herbal, peppery aroma. Medium to full bodied on the palate with nice sticky feel on the tongue. Good lacing on the glass. Overall, really enjoyable beer. Want another!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Idiosynkrasie (1980) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JUN 14, 2013
355ml bottle. Clear amber colour with average, firm, frothy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Dry, grainy aroma, minimally spicy, peppery hints of dark rye bread. Taste is dry hoppy, hints of mineral, chalk, dry dark rye bread, cautious caramel malty undertones. Narrow, no complexity, underdeveloped hop flavours. What a bummer!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 flying_pig (635) - SCOTLAND - JUN 12, 2013
355ml Bottle from The Cave, Glasgow:
Caramel malts and an earthy, slightly spicy aroma. There is some citrus hops and a few touches of pine once the beer opens up some. I could also detect some grapefruit and hints of alcohol.
Copper amber colour with some red tinges throughout. The head is a half cm, foamy white one with nice retention.
Citrus and a pine hop taste with some grapefruit and a chalky bitterness. There is also a caramel malt taste and some light earthiness. This is followed by some rye, spice and faint hints of wheat plus some light tropical fruits.
Medium with a tangy citrus feel and plenty of pine bitterness around the middle to the end. There is some hints of alcohol and a bubbly, alcohol laced feel to the beer. Carbonation is mild too.
Bitter and tropical fruit laced beer although it’s definitely not a classic from Sierra Nevada. It is still a nice beer, just not their best offering.

The head is robust, the body brown. It smells rye, malty, creamy. The taste is creamy, thick, rye, a bit bitter, malty. Ok 12/12/12/12/-/12
3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 peral2 (448) - SWEDEN - JUN 9, 2013

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BreWedge (182) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 8, 2013
12 fl oz bottle via Piscator34. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a large but short-lived pillowy off-white head. Aromas are subdued for an IPA, some grain, a touch of resin, faint florals, even a hint of sour aciditity (like bile). Taste is largely the pine resin typical of many an IPA but with a hint of the acidity present of the nose. Medium body, sharp astringent bite and a medium bitter finish. Nice IPA despite the unusual aroma.
