omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 29, 2008 Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Very dark brown, minimal head. Roasty chocolatey nose. Sweet with clean mouthfeel and fairly light body. Flavour of chocolate wrapped in paper. Finishes with faint bitterness. I dig the chocolate part, but the hard, clean mouthfeel makes it dull and lifeless. kkearn (711), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 5, 2008 Draft, at Blind Tiger (NYC) 8/30/08. Poured cola colored with a medium-sized tan head. Aroma of cocoa and roasted malt. Flavor is dark chocolate, mocha, bread, mild hops and some nuts. Long nutty finish.
LilBeerDoctor (730), East Setauket, New York, USA Sep 3, 2008 Tap at BT. Pours a dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, and some sweet light malts too. Flavor of nice roasted malts. Light and smooth palate, tasty and drinkable. Interesting schwarzbier, more roasted than I expected but it was quite tasty! fredandboboflo (715), East Setauket, New York, USA Sep 3, 2008 Tap at Bling Tiger. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt. Flavor of the same with an element of sweetness. Full bodied yet silky. Sort of like a lager form of their porter. Yum! swoopjones (1234), Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 29, 2008 on tap @ Blind Tiger Sierra Nevada tasting. Deep brown pour with roasted malt & chocolate aroma. Taste is roasty, chocolatey, bready. Very good schwarz IMO
