Sierra Nevada’s Scotch Ale is a dark amber hued ale. It has a sweet nose with just a bit of earth in the undertone. The taste is warm yet very accessible with a clean, refreshing finish.

Tap at the brewpub on 3/23. Pours dark orange/amber with a slight beige head. Malty aroma. Med body. Flavor is rather heavy malt - possible touch of smoke? Or maybe a little earthy? There’s a little hop. Finishes on the non-dry side, but it drinks pretty well tho.

Tap. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate nuts and toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good brew.

This beer pours a clear ruby-amber color with a medium khaki head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, caramel and hops. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, earthy hops and a bit of dark fruit. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

"kinda average for a scotch ale. good use of the sweet and peaty malts, but it was a touch light and the hops were a distraction. i was surprised that this beer mixed with a barrel aged IRS was sooooo good."

On tap at Dutch’s. Keg is labeled 7.3%. Mostly clear dark red color. Thin off-white head. Awesome smoke up front, caramel, and some dark fruitiness. Touch of chocolate. Reminds me of the Tater Ridge scotch ale. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Mildly slick. Good full, kind of creamy body. Moderate sweet, lighter to moderate bitter, great balance overall. Some spiciness in the finish. Love it. Fantastic scotch ale. Great to enjoy with my short rib grilled cheese sandwich.

Tap. Amber-brown pour with a smaller soapy head. Malty, bit of toffee, a bit of herbal edge to it. Okay for me.

Pour on tap at Busters on 28th, hazy reddish brown pour with slightly tan head, aroma brought notes of dark fruit, toffee, caramel into a bit of spice, slight grassy notes, pretty standard. Taste was a mix of caramel, toffee, sweet red fruit, some slight vanilla, honey, slight herbs, finishing slightly sweet, slightly dry.
