Tap at the brewpub on 3/23. Pours dark orange/amber with a slight beige head. Malty aroma. Med body. Flavor is rather heavy malt - possible touch of smoke? Or maybe a little earthy? There’s a little hop. Finishes on the non-dry side, but it drinks pretty well tho.

Personal Milestone: California rating #200 (out of 3423)!!!
The body’s a fairly murky brown color and it sports a sudsy beige head. This aroma is rich and malty, sweet, and has hints of smoke. The flavor, too, is quite malty and has some caramel, a bit of pome, and a lightly smokey finish. Quaffable.

Tasted on firkin at the 4th Annual Firkin Gravity Festival. This scotch ale pours a medium brown color. Large sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel and malty. A medium bodied Scotch Ale. Malts are malty, caramel and sweet. Hops are earthy. Fairly sweet, very smooth taste. Soft carbonation. Nice balance. Touch of wood and peat. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Poured a copper color with a medium sized, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malts, light peat, nuts, and light roast. Taste of caramel and smoked malts, nuts, light alcohol, and faint citrus hoppiness. Did I have the same beer everyone else had?

I’ve had this on tap at a few places in the NY metro area so far, and I must say that it is a rather weak attempt at a scotch ale (the description at Barcade listed it as 6% alcohol, if that is any indication) - some chocolate and caramel make themselves present in the rather thin body, but otherwise this is a bland effort at an otherwise flavorful style.

Tap @ Cumming Summits: Clear chestnut color with a small off-white head. The aroma was pretty simple made mostly of sweet malty caramel. Malty flavor of caramel and nutty. Semi-dry. Moderately bitter finish. Some warmth. Light to medium bodied.

On tap at PP Carlsbad. Pours a reddish borwn, offwhite head. Sweet malt, caramel, toffee, and light chocolate. Notes of fruit and earthiness. Decent scotch ale, Im just not a big fan of the style.
