COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You don’t need a magic mirror to see the lure of this beer. It’s brewed with seven varieties of experimental dwarf hops. These hops are so called because of their uncommon growing method—shorter hedgerows rather than tall trellis systems—that yields a denser heap of cones with unique flavors that diverge from their full-grown botanical counterparts. Each year new and different varieties are grown in this method, creating untried and exciting shifts in hop character.

Kind of reminds of a cross between a wit And a saison. Nice appearance. Yeasty slightly spicy aroma no fruit. Color is slightly hazy amber. Flavor is like nose. Nice palate. Ditto finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear solid gold with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus and slightly sour malt. Flavour is thin and citrus and quite dry. Body is extremely thin but not refreshing and I don't have any idea when the first time since the update is so much fun to use the same thing as the new one for me. Finish is dry and slightly sour and bitter. Totally meh.

Transfer from BA review on 3-22-14- Picked up a case of the new IPA pack from Sierra. This is the first new three brews I will be trying (already had the torpedo, which is a classic standard IPA in my mind) Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The pours a very hazy orange-straw color with a huge and billowy pure white head. The head has a fantastic level of retention, fading very slowly over time as big bubbles of the head pop within. Upon fading the head ends up leaving a nice level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is heavy of a yeasty smell along with aromas of a more biscuit and spicy aroma with some coriander and cardamom both there. Along with these smells are some hoppy aromas. The hop is biggest of a grassy smell, but has notes of a bitter grapefruit aroma mixed within. Rounding out the smell is just a tad of a more cracker smell as well as a very tiny amount of black pepper. Taste – The taste begins with a grainy and biscuit flavor with other tastes of a more yeasty and spicy nature. A moderate amount of an orange sweetness and lots of yeast cake is present straight from the start, with these joined by a moderately strong grapefruit hop flavor. The orange and biscuit remain relatively constant throughout the taste creating a base flavor for the brew. The yeast and spice grow stronger and stronger as the taste moves on through to the end with the spice of coriander getting quite potent. All the while the grapefruit hop gains a bit more strength and is joined by a grassy hop flavor. While in the middle of the taste the grassiness is rather light, toward the end it gets quite strong. The mix of grainy, biscuit, grassy hop and light orange, yeast and spice don’t meld all that well together in the end, leaving a slightly harsh flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the chewier side with a carbonation level that is on the average to just above average side. For the somewhat off mix of flavors that is left on the tongue at the end, the mix of chewiness and carbonation is actually quite nice for melding all the flavors a bit more than they would be with a brew of body otherwise. So… for the flavor profile, I have to say, Sierra Nevada likely nailed it here. Overall – The brew looked and felt pretty nice, but the flavors never really complimented each other very well for me always leaving a slightly off flavor on the tongue. Just OK.

Bottle from Drinkstore. Hazy orange yellow, huge bright white head, lovely lacing. Signature SN hop profile, grapefruit, spicy notes. Flavour is grapefruit bitterness, floury wheat and some tropical fruit notes. Decent body, fairly highly carbonated. Soft and dry in the finish. Nice.

From the sierra Nevada IPA twelve pack. Snow Wit is a hazy light golden color liquid with a thick head of white bubbles. Nose is a blend of typical belgian white hop aroma and other IPA hops. Taste is initially an IPA hit with a really elegant belgian white ale finish. body is lively but light and the finish is crisp. I really don’t like Wits as a style, but this beer is very nice.

355 ml bottle bought at CitySuper in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Looks: Cloudy hazy golden honey colour with thick layer of yeast sediments; One finger head and crumpety white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Excellent good sticky lacing with near zero carbonation.

Aroma: Fragrant and sweet Ale malt, with strong lemon zest, marmalade, pomelo, strong floral nectar, molasses, light coriander, faint pine cones, yeast and light sharp grass.

Taste: Mid to light sweet Ale malt, with strong wheat and tartness, strong lemon, coriander, dry biscuits, strong earth, fairly light pine, yeast, moderate to strong bitter hops, and very strong sharp grass.

Body: Mid to light body, very dry and slick palate.

Mouth feel: Strong Ale malt base which remained pretty thick despite heavy wheat presence with good mean dryness and tartness. Strong lemon zest and coriander all alnong, with strong earth, light pine and dry biscuits dominate. Mean and tasty!

Hoppiness: strong floral nectar, marmalade, pomelo, lemon and grass in nose, strong lemon, earth, light pine and light grapefruit in taste. Summit’s bitterness is lingering, moderate but very notable for a fairly astringent finish.

After taste Very dry, crisp and hoppy to mouth.

Comments: As in most SN beers, this hybrid of IPA and Belgian White is big and ambitious - strong rich wheatyness did not dampen the solid malt base, plus good lemon and coriander, and the dual attack of Summit and experimental hops gave a very fruity and jammy aroma on one hand , and a chop-licking Pils-like bitterness on the other. SN pumps it up, and it still works quite nicely. Recommended.

Enjoyed the complex herbal and citrus hop flavors. Reminiscent of many different herbs although I don’t have the tongue to pick them out. Not a west coast IPA for sure, hops not as aggressive. Not too thin or thick or sticky on the mouth.
