Immy (1477), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA May 13, 2008 24 oz bottle, 2008 "1st Release". Crystal clear orange with a huge, rocky, off white head. Big, sweet hop nose, grassy and pink grapefruity with a light, sweet malt base. Medium bodied and crisp. Sharp grassy hop flavor to start, followed by a sweet grapefruit with a dash of white pepper. Stunningly drinkable. Light, crisp finish, grassy bite. Another excellent drinker from SN. Well done, as usual!
JoeinUccle (624), Brussels, Belgium Jul 26, 2008 Bottled. Golden amber color, nice beige head. Moderate grapefruit-hop nose, fruit punch notes, a bit malty. Easy and reasonably bitter flavor. Very tasty and quenching. Excellent beer. mhelgason (415), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Jul 25, 2008 average creamy white head into cloudy orange body with decent to good lacing present. aromas of a clean light to mod hopiness and light malts (well balanced). flavor is lightly bitter with a touch of sweet throughout. lively carbonation with decently lasting finish duration. Damn good easy drinking IPA. Glouglouburp (1876), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 22, 2008 In short: A dry and fruity highly drinkable IPA.
How: Post-Mondial 2008 tasting session. Bottles brought to Montreal by Dickinsonbeer
The look: Clear copper body topped by a medium off-white head
In long: Nose and taste is all about floral and dry fruity flavours. Orange peels, citrus fruits, dry fruits, green grass, some tree bark. The solid malt backbone is supportive more than flavourful. Finish has a paper dryness. Very nice and crisp. This is one beer I hope Sierra will keep making, plus that will keep those New Zealanders busy and give the sheep a break. Holdwine (816), Beertimore, Maryland, USA Jul 21, 2008 You know, I was all excited to have this, but after the initial flush of fresh hoppy lemongrass, it kinda petered out. Still an above average pour, all coppery and what naught. Just peaked real early and then became just another IPA. BückDich (4497), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 21, 2008 Tap @ Terrapin Station, Boise: Pours a coppery golden color with a nice white head and decent lacing. The nose is fresh and grassy with some light citrus and pine notes along with a semi-sweet caramel malt hit. The flavor has a nice body with a chewy malt sweetness on top of a light citrus hop flavor, not too dry hopped by adequately hopped nonetheless. The finish is toasty and light. Decent pale ale, IPA is a stretch, but it’s good.
